Manipal University offers various post-graduation programmes for which they have a various method to select aspirants. Few courses have some special privileges for aspirants, in such cases, aspirants need to current relevant documents along with the application form. Selection of courses is made via entrance test, Interview, Group discussion, and marks scored in the qualifying exams depending on the course. Application for these programmes can be made via online mode for which aspirants need to visit the University website and are need to keep a scanned copy of photograph and signature. University also offers financial aid and scholarship to deserving aspirants for which, they have various criteria. Application form fee is various for Indian nationals and internationals aspirants which can be done via Net banking/Credit card/Debit card. M.Com

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Those aspirants who have a bachelor degree in management/commerce from a recognized University are qualified for M.Com programme.

Master of Library and Information Science [M.Lib]

Masters in Library and Information Sciences is offered by the Department & Library & Information science. Sc also has the method of lateral entry admission in which aspirants can get admission to the second year of the course.

Duration: 2 years

NOTE: Period for lateral entry is 1 year.

Eligibility: Those aspirants who have done B.Lib.I.Sc from a recognized college is qualified for the Master's course.

M.Lib.I.

Master of Public Health [MPH]

Eligibility: Aspirants need to have a bachelor degree in health Science branch from a recognized University with at least 60% marks.

Eligibility: Those aspirants, who have done Bachelors in any subject from any recognized University with at least 50% marks, are qualified for the MSW programme.

MHA

Duration: 2 years

Eligibility: Those aspirants who have done MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS BNYS/BPT/BSc Nursing/B. Pharm from a recognized University with a minimum of 50% marks is qualified for the MHA programme.

DM [Cardiology] , DM [Gastroenterology] & DM [Neurology]

Duration: 3 years

Eligibility: Aspirants need to have MD in General Medicine or Paediatrics from any college recognized by the Medical Council of India.

Application Procedure

M.Sc (Medicine) , M.Sc & MA

Aspirants can apply for the programme by visiting Manipal University website. There are two various sections for application, one is for the Indian admissions and another is for international admissions.

Citizenship: Indian nationals can apply under the General category. Foreign nationals or NRI or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/NRI category.

Qualification: MSc (Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology):

The candidate must have passed BSc with at least one subject of Biological Sciences or BAMS or MBBS or BHMS or BPT or BPharm or any other professional graduates from a recognized University. BSc graduates with Physics and Chemistry options could be considered for admission to MSc Biochemistry course.

Indian admissions are done for Indian nationals for whom the application fee is INR 600 and entrance test fee is INR 1400. International admissions are done for foreign national for whom the application fee is INR 2500. The application is submitted in 5 simple steps:

Admission Procedure

Master of Arts [MA] (Media and Communication)

Aspirants need to appear for Manipal University Online Entrance Test(MU-OET) organized on All India level. Aspirants are offered with the facility to select their test schedule according to their convenience.

University will announce a merit list of those aspirants who have elected the entrance test. These students need to appear in an interview and group discussion.

User facts:

The inclusion of name in the merit list based on the entrance test doesn’t promise the selection, a final merit list will be announced by the university based on the performance of aspirants in qualifying exams, GD, and interview.

Master of Arts [MA] (European Art)

There is no entrance test for these courses; aspirants only need to appear in an interview. University will prepare a merit list for the selection of aspirants based upon the marks scored in qualifying exams and performance in the interview.

Master of Physiotherapy(MPT)

Aspirants need to appear for Manipal University Online Entrance Test(MU-OET) organized on All India level. University will constitute a merit list for selection of aspirants based on their performance in the test and the eligibility for the course.

M.Sc (Medicine)

There is no entrance test for this course; selection is made on the marks scored in the qualifying exams.

Master of Library and Information Science [M.Lib] & Master in Occupational Therapy [MOT]

There is no entrance test for this course; selection is made on the marks scored in the qualifying exams.

DM [Cardiology] , DM [Gastroenterology] & DM [Neurology]

Admission to Doctorate of Medicine is made on the basis of past academic performance, the result of test organized on a department level, viva-voce, and interview.

NOTE: Aspirants must current the photocopy of following documents along with the application form:

  1. Post-internship professional experience
  2. Post-MD professional experience
  3. Publications in reputed professional journals

Master of Hospital Administration [MHA], Master of Public Health [MPH] & Master of Social Work [MSW]

Admission to these courses is made on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exams and interview. There is no entrance test for these courses.

For all the courses a separate merit will be constituted for the foreign nationals.

Financial Aid:

The State Bank of India offers financial support to those students who are meritorious but lags on financial aspects.

Bank offers a loan of INR 7.5 lakhs to deserving aspirants without any security. This amount may be extended to INR 30 lakhs if aspirants produce something as a security for the money taken as loan.  Bank allows the repayment of the loan by the aspirant up to 12 years.

Parent’s annual Income scholarship:

Up to INR 3 lakhs: 100%

3 lakhs to 5 lakhs: 90%

5 lakhs to 7.5 lakhs: 75%

7.5 lakhs to 10 lakhs: 50%

10 lakhs to 12.5 lakhs: 25%

Above 12.5 lakhs: 10%

NOTE:

  • To claim for the scholarship aspirants are need to offer an attested copy of Income Tax return of parents’ income.
  • The scholarship does not contain hostel fees, expenses on books etc.
  • Those aspirants, who are qualified for 100% scholarship, should have to pay 5% of the annual fee or 5% of family annual income, whichever is less.

Konkani speaking students:

There is also a provision of providing a scholarship to those aspirants who have linguistic command on Konkani language. They are offered with the waiver of 10% of the course fee.
