Manipal University is a deemed university founded in 1956. It is situated in Manipal, Karnataka and is a member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities. The University provides different courses in many streams like medicine, dentistry, engineering, pharmacy, hotel management, and communication.

University comprises different courses at the undergraduate (UG) level in the field of engineering in its academic programme.

Admission to B. Tech programmes is via All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) 2018.

The aspirant can register themselves by submitting the entrance fee of amount Rs. 1400/-.

Eligibility criteria for the above-mentioned B. Tech. in Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility CRITERIA:


 Aspirants must be Indian Nationals.

    • The aspirant must have passed 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as mandatory subjects along with Chemistry or Biotechnology or Biology or any technical vocational subjects as optional with a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects.

  • B. Tech. Lateral Entry – (3 years):

  • Eligibility

    • Candidates must be Indian Nationals.
    • Candidate must possess 3 years diploma in engineering by the Board of Technical Examination of a State Government or passed B.Sc. degree from recognized university with minimum 45% marks and 10+2 with Mathematics as the subject.
  • Application Procedure

    BE/B.Tech

    1. The aspirant must fill the application form in his/her handwriting.
    2. The application form will be rejected if there is overwriting, striking off or erasing anywhere in the form.
    3. The aspirant must remit entrance fee via DD which should be drawn in favor of 'Manipal University' payable at Manipal or Udupi. Both application number and name should be mentioned at the back of DD.
    4. Aspirants are not allowed to fold, staple or clip the form and keep the copy of the filled application for future reference.

    For foreign/NRI aspirants:

    2. If the change of category from Foreign/NRI to General after admission then it will not be entertained

    Selection Procedure

    • Selection of the aspirant is based on rank achieved in All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MUOET) 2018.

    Hostel Facilities:

    • Foreign nationals or Non-Resident Indians or Indian nationals supported by NRI relatives can apply under the Foreign/NRI Category.
    • Foreign/NRI students may create their rooms in advance while submitting their application forms.
    • University offer hostel rooms with all the facilities (study table, chair and cupboard, uninterrupted electricity, solar/electric heated water facility, water cooler with aquaguard filters, common telephone, common TV room, common reading room etc.) to all aspirants.
    • 1st year Under Graduate students are offered with double/triple rooms only
