Manipal University offers M.Phil, Ph.D., D.Pharm and D.Ppharm(Post Basic) for which application is announced on various dates. These programmes are provideed in various specializations having various eligibility criteria. Application for Ph.D. is made throughout the year and is procedures quarterly. University also offers financial aid and scholarship to deserving aspirants. Payment for the application can be made via Net banking/Debit card/Credit card. Eligibility Criteria for Manipal University M.Phil and Ph.D Admission 2018

M.Phil/Ph.D in Pharmacy, M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Medicine

Duration: 2 years

NOTE:

  • The period for M.Phil. in regenerative medicine is 1 year.
  • The period for M.Phil. in Natural Sciences is 18 months.
  • The period for M.Phil. in Nursing is 1 year for the full-time method and 2 years for the part-time mode.

Eligibility:

For Nursing:

Aspirants need to have done M.Sc. Nursing which has to be recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with minimum 60% marks.

For Natural Sciences:

Aspirants need to have M.Tech or M.Sc. in a relevant subject, to take admission in M.Phil. Natural Sciences programme.

For Clinical Psychology:

For M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology, aspirants need to have an M.Sc. or M.A. in Clinical Psychology with minimum 55% marks.

For Regenerative Medicine:

Aspirants need to have done M.Sc. in life science/M.Sc. Biotechnology/MBBS/MDS/M.Pharm/MD/M.Sc. in regenerative medicine/M.Sc. in clinical embryology with minimum 50% marks are applicable for the course.

For Psychiatric Social Work:

Aspirants should have done MSW from any recognized University with minimum 55% marks to be applicable for the course.

Eligibility: Those aspirants who have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and English as main subjects and Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects are applicable for the course.

NOTE: Those aspirants who have passed 10+2 from ‘National Open School” are not applicable for admission to PharmD programme under the Pharmacy Act.

Pharm.D (Post Baccalaureate)

Duration: 3 years

NOTE: An Internship of ONE year is also comprised in the course duration.

Eligibility: Aspirants need to have done B.Pharm from an institution recognized by the Pharmacy Council of India with minimum 50% marks.


Application Procedure of Manipal University M.Phil and Ph.D Admission 2018

M.Phil/Ph.D in Pharmacy, M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Medicine

Aspirants can apply for the programme by visiting Manipal University website. There are two various sections for application, one is for the Indian admissions and another is for international admissions.

Indian admissions are done for Indian nationals for whom the application fee is INR 600 and entrance test fee is INR 1400. International admissions are done for foreign national for whom the application fee is INR 2500. The application is submitted in 5 simple steps:

Admission Procedure of Manipal University M.Phil and Ph.D Admission 2018

M.Phil/Ph.D in Pharmacy, M.Phil/Ph.D in Science & M.Phil/Ph.D in Medicine

Aspirants need to appear in Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET), for getting admission in the M.Phil, Ph.D. and Pharm. This amount may be extended to INR 30 lakhs if aspirants produce something as a security for the money taken as loan. They are offered with the waiver of 10% of the course fee.

D programmes. These students need to appear in an interview and group discussion.

User facts:

  • Selection for Ph.D. is made whenever the University will have research grants with the provision to select the aspirants.
  • A separate Merit list will be announced for foreign/NRI aspirants.
  • The inclusion of name in the merit list based on the entrance test doesn’t promise the selection, a final merit list will be announced by the university based on the performance of aspirants in qualifying exams, GD and interview.

Financial Aid:

The State Bank of India offers financial support to those students who are meritorious but lags on financial aspects.

Bank offers a loan of INR 7.5 lakhs to deserving aspirants without any security. Aspirants are offered with the facility to select their test slot and centre according to their convenience.

University will announce a merit list of those aspirants who have qualified the entrance test.  Bank allows the repayment of the loan by the aspirant up to 12 years.

Parent’s annual Income scholarship:

Up to INR 3 lakhs: 100%

3 lakhs to 5 lakhs: 90%

5 lakhs to 7.5 lakhs: 75%

7.5 lakhs to 10 lakhs: 50%

10 lakhs to 12.5 lakhs: 25%

Above 12.5 lakhs: 10%

NOTE:

  • A scholarship does not contain hostel fees, expenses on books etc.
  • Those aspirants, who are applicable for 100% scholarship, should have to pay 5% of the annual fee or 5% of family annual income, whichever is less.
  • To claim for the scholarship aspirants are need to offer an attested copy of Income Tax return of parents’ income.

Konkani speaking students:

There is also a provision of providing the scholarship to those aspirants who have linguistic command on Konkani language.
