Mahatma Gandhi University, famously known as MG University, is a UGC approved university which has grown to be amongst the top universities in India. It provides 300 academic programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate level all over India.
MG University offers Ph.D. in different branches and can be done in three ways:
Admissions of aspirants in these programmes will be done on the basis of qualifying examination merit as well as their performance in written aptitude test (WAT) and interview.
Students who satisfy the eligibility criteria and wish to apply for the Ph.D. programme can register themselves by submitting duly filled-in applications along with the registration fee via the official website.
For admissions to the Ph.D. programmes, one should qualify the following eligibility criteria:
CA and ACS aspirants can also apply, offered their name has been entered in the Register as members maintained by the Institute of Chartered Accountant of India.
Aspirants awaiting the results of Post Graduate degree can also apply for the programme
Aspirants with MBBS/ BAHMS/ BHMS /BDS degree should have an at least of 50% aggregate.
Aspirants should possess a Postgraduate degree in any branch from MG University or any other university which is considered as equivalent by MGU, with an at least of 55% aggregate. For SC/ST aspirants, one should have an at least of 50% in Post Graduate degree
How to Apply to MGU (Mahatma Gandhi University) Kerala Ph.D Admissions 2018?
Aspirants can download the application form available at the university website and fill the relevant details. Also, the total number of pages should not exceed 5.
Aspirants also have to pay the Registration fee of INR 1025, INR 775 in case of SC/ST students, payable at MG University Cash Counter/ Janasevana Kedram /SBT disciplines via MG University pay-in-slip.
Aspirants can also send the form along with the documents by attaching a challan of receipt. THERE IS NO ONLINE MODE OF PAYMENT. Upon completion, aspirants should send the applications to the university along with the following documents :
Scorecard copy of WAT (if appeared)
Attested copy Post Graduate degree mark sheet and certificate
Attested copy of the following certificates – JRF/NET/SLET / GATE/GPAT/KSCSTINPIRE/MANF/RGNF etc.
Eligibility certificate of M.Phil/Post Graduate degree holders if done from any other university.
No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer (if eligible)
A total of three copies of the Research proposal in the following pattern from the Research Centre :
Attested copy of T.C from the institution where the aspirants last studied.
Letter of consent showing vacancy position of the supervising teacher
Agreement letter from the Heard of the Research Centre
Caste certificates of SC/ST (if eligible)
Attested copy of the M.Phil. degree certificate (if eligible)
On the front page, these details should be there with a heading of Research Proposal -Title of Research work, Research area, branch, Name and address of the aspirant, supervising teacher and research centre.
Then, aspirants should be given introduction including the concerned studies.
Aspirants should offer, Importance of the work.
Objectives of the study
Methods and design of work (methodology)
Work schedule (year wise)
The research proposal should be signed by the Research Guide at the first and the last page respectively. DD IS ALSO NOT ACCEPTED.
Selection Procedure for MGU (Mahatma Gandhi University) Kerala Ph.D Admissions 2018
For admission to the Ph.D. programmes, aspirants must appear for the WAT exam, organizeed by the university itself. Once selected, they can register by filling the application form prior to the last date and appear for the interview round. Final selection will be done by the university committee on the basis of aspirant’s performance in WAT and interview.
The following group of people will be exempted from giving WAT:
Aspirants who cater as Regular & Permanent teachers in University Departments and Government /Aided colleges in the state.
Aspirants who cater as Scientists of Accredited R&D Institutions.
DST Women Scientist Awardees
UGC Teacher fellows
KSCST/INSPIRE/MANF/RGNF/ or fellowship awardees.
Aspirants having degrees of M.Phil & M.Tech ( in all branches) and MD&MS ( in modern medicine, homoeopathy and Ayurveda)
Aspirants who are exempted from WAT will be selected on the basis of following:
Letter of consent showing vacancy position of the Supervising teacher.
Letter of Agreement of the Head of the Research Centre.
