MGU Kerala M.Sc, M.Ed, MA, LL.M Admissions 2018 through MGU-CAT

Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala was famously known as MGU, is a UGC approved university which has grown to be amongst the top universities in India. It provides 300 academic programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate level all over India. The university provides the following Post Graduate courses to its students via MGU-CAT entrance exam:

  • Master of Law (LL.M)
  • Master of Education (M.Ed)
  • Master of Science (M.Sc)
  • Master of Arts (M.A.)

Students who satisfy eligibility criteria can register for admission to the related Post Graduate programme by filling the application form and submitting the need fee via online payment modes. Admission in these programmes will be done on the basis of their performance in the university entrance examination (CAT-MGU), after which they will be called for counseling.

Eligibility: Aspirant must possess L.L.B. degree with not less than 50% marks (or CGPA of 2) in the aggregate

M.Ed

Eligibility: Aspirant must possess B.Ed. degree in related specialization with 55% or CGPA of 2.2

MA

Eligibility: Aspirant must have a degree in Arts with not less than 45% marks or any Science Degree with a at least of 50% marks

Eligibility: Aspirant must possess BA/B.Sc. in Psychology degree with at least 50% marks

Eligibility: Aspirant must have a B.Sc. Degree in any of the Optional subjects (Botany/ Zoology/Chemistry/ Physics/ Geology/ Geography/Life Science/ Environment Science/ Environment Management/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Plant or Animal Science/ Agriculture/ Fisheries/ Aquaculture/ Horticulture/ Forestry/ B.Tech. in Civil, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental or equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in Part III

  • M.Sc. Environment Science and Disaster Management

Eligibility: Aspirant must have a B.Sc. Degree in any subject with not less than 50% marks in Part III

  • M.Sc. Chemistry (Organic Chemistry)

Eligibility: Aspirant must possess B.Sc. Degree in Chemistry with a at least of 50% marks in Part III (Mathematics and Physics as subsidiaries)

  • M.Sc. Physics with Specialization from Astrophysics, Theoretical Physics, Material Science, Applied Electronics

Eligibility: Aspirant should be a B.Sc. Degree in Physics with Mathematics as the subsidiary with not less than 50% marks in Part III.

How to Apply

MA, M.Ed & M.Sc

  • Aspirants should fill the application form with all the relevant details as prescribed by the university. After selecting the programmes, the aspirants should pay the registration fee only via online payment mode. THERE IS NO OFFLINE METHOD FOR PAYMENT OF REGISTRATION FEE.
  • Aspirants can log on to the official university website and click on the CAT-MGU 2018 link or one can straight log on to www.cat.mgu.ac.in. Upon registration, aspirant will be issued a username and password for their account which they should use to fill the related application form
  • The details of the registration fee is as follows:
  1. For General Aspirants - INR 500 per programme/cluster of programmes.
  2. For SC/ST aspirants from Kerala โ€“ INR 250 per programme/ cluster of programmes.

Admission Procedure

MA, M.Ed & M.Sc

Aspirants will be shortlisted for admission to M.Ed., LL.M and selected branches of M.Sc and MA on the basis of marks scored in the CAT-MGU entrance examination, organized by the university itself.

Reservation Criteria

There are three types of reservation eligible in the CAT MGU examination. For such aspirants, there is a 3% seat reservation for all the programs.

MG University Fee Structure 2016

  • Reservation for Persons with Disabilities

Aspirants in the following three categories will be treated as Physically Handicapped category:

  1. Blind
  2. Deaf
  3. Orthopedically challenged

Aspirants with 40% or more of any disability as certified by a Medical Board constituted for this purpose will be considered for reservation in this category.
