The Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University (TNMGRMU) is a government medical university and is the 2nd largest health sciences university in India. The university has various departments which provide a multitude of medical courses at undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG) and doctoral level.
TNMGRMU provides Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of surgery (MBBS) course at the UG level for students who have passed 10+2 qualifying examination. Admission to the programme is done on the basis of the marks secured by the aspirant in the university entrance examination.
Aspirants can register themselves via online application procedure upon submitting the prescribed application fee of INR 1400 along with finished relevant original certificates.

Eligibility Criteria
MBBS
For Indian aspirants
Aspirant should have finished 12 years of study in which last 2 years study must include of physics, chemistry, and biology along with English
Aspirant must have personally passed in English, physics, chemistry, and biology
The aspirant must have studied 10+2+3 format as advisable by National Committee. If this education structure is not prescribed, then aspirant must have gone via 1-year professional training before being admitted to medical college
At Least eligibility marks::
O.C: At Least 60% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 60% of marks in each subject viz., Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should not be less than 80 out of 200.
M.B.C: At Least 55% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 40% of marks in each subject viz., Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should not be less than 140 out of 200.
B.C: At Least 60% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 60% of marks in each subject viz., Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should not be less than 120 out of 200.
SC/ST: At Least 40% of marks in Biology or Botany & Zoology taken together. 55% of marks in each subject viz., Physics and Chemistry. Aggregate should not be less than 130 out of 200.
Note: The above given eligibility criterion is not eligible for the aspirants who are selected via All India Quota.
For NRI Aspirants:
The aspirant should have finished age of 17 years on or before getting admission to MBBS programme.
The aspirant should have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in biology/botany and zoology and minimum 50% marks in physics and chemistry.
The aspirant must have passed HSC examination with 10+2 format or equivalent recognised by the university.
How to Apply

For Indian aspirants:
The aspirant must submit the registration fee of Rs. 1400/- for application and eligibility certificate via online payment gateway for students. Aspirant want admission under NRI quota must possess Indian passport
Aspirants can fill the online application form available at the university website and submit it along with the need fee to clear the registration procedure

Certificate of relationship between the NRI financial supporter and the aspirant allowed by the competent authority

NRE (Non-Resident External) Bank Account Pass Book of the financial supporter
Evidence for payment of Development charges the US $ 1000/- to the college by the NRI financial supporter (One-time payment at the time of admission only)
For NRI aspirants:
The aspirant should be of Indian origin settled in foreign countries or should be born to parents of Indian origin in a foreign country. The application and eligibility certificate fee is non-refundable
Aspirants who have passed advanced level qualification and central board examination in foreign countries can also submit application and eligibility fee amount of Rs. 10,000/- via Demand Draft (DD) in favor of The Registrar, Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai.
Admission Procedure
MBBS
Selection of the aspirant will be based on the marks obtained in the merit list in qualifying entrance examination
For aspirants belonging to SC/ST/BC category, at least need aggregate in physics, chemistry and biology is 40%. For general aspirants, the need percentage is 50%
Selection of the NRI aspirants will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying entrance examination
