MGMIHS [MGM Institute of Health Sciences] B.Sc Nursing and BPT Admissions 2018

MGM Institute of Health Sciences (MGMIHS) was founded in 1956 under UGC Act and Accredited by NAAC. MGM School of Physiotherapy was founded in 2008 when the first batch of students was admitted to BPT programme. It is run by Mahatma Gandhi Mission Trust, along with a chain of several other colleges spread around the country providing quality education in multiple streams such as Engineering, Medical, Nursing, Management, Science, Journalism and Fine Arts.

The university provides the following courses at undergraduate (UG) level to its students:

  • B.Sc. Nursing – (4 years)
  • Post-Basic (PB) B.Sc. Nursing – (2 years)
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy (B.P.T.) – (4½ years)

Admission to the abovementioned programmes is done on the basis of aspirant’s performance in the university entrance test. Aspirants can register themselves for admission by submitting finished applications, along with the registration and entrance examination fee of Rs. 500/- on or before the last date.

Eligibility Criteria

B.Sc (Nursing)

B.Sc. Nursing – (50 seats in MGM College, Navi Mumbai):


  • Aspirant must have passed 10+2 examination with science (PSB) and English Core/ English Elective with 45% of aggregate marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or equivalent Board (OR) 

Aspirant should have passed 10+2 examination in science subjects with 45% marks by national institute of open school

  • Aspirant should be minimum 17 years of age as on December 31 of the year of admission
  • For SC/ST aspirants, there is 5% relaxation in the minimum need aggregate

Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing – (30 seats in MGM College, Navi Mumbai):


  • Foreign nursing recognized from Indian Nursing Council will be considered as equivalent in case of G.N.M. from foreign countries
  • Aspirant must register as R.N.R.M. with the State Nurses Registration Council in case of General Nursing and Midwifery (G.N.M.)
  • Aspirant must have passed higher secondary/ senior secondary/ intermediate/ 10+2/equivalent examination from recognized board

Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)

  • Aspirant must possess certificate of Medical fitness from an authorized medical officer
  • Aspirant must have passed in Common Entrance Test held by MGMIHS with minimum 50% marks
  • An aspirant must pass in examination organized by Boards/Councils/Intermediate founded by State Government/Central Government and 2 years recognized pre-university examination by Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Health Sciences, with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, with minimum 50% of marks

Step to Apply

  • Finished applications, in all respects, along with the fee and documents should be sent to the following postal correspondence address:
  • Aspirant can register themselves by filling online application form available on the official university website 
  • At the time of admission, aspirants must submit the original supporting documents along with two sets of attested photocopy of the enclosures
  • Along with finished applications, aspirant must submit the application fee amount of Rs. 500/- via DD in favour of 'MGM Institute of Health Sciences', and payable at Mumbai. If the aspirant is late by one week, he/she has to submit the application form with the late fee of Rs. 1500/-

Admission Procedure

B.Sc (Nursing) & Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)

Selection of the aspirants will be based on the marks scored in MGM Common Entrance Test organized by the university.
