Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is founded in 1988. and Ph.D. scholars. Phil. Most of the Schools have already produced a considerable number of M. The University offers different undergraduate, postgraduate and research programs in 24 departments. The University has seven schools of education which comprise 24 Departments. The University provides admission to the following programs for the year 2017-18.

  • Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D.)
  • Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.)

Only aspirants with the relevant qualifying degree can register for the above-mentioned programmes. Seats are reserved for people belonging to various categories such as SC/ST/BC etc. as well as special categories viz. Differently-abled, women etc.

Aspirants can register for admission by filling in the online application form and submitting the need procedures fee, on or beforeMay 31, 2018. Admission to the above programmes is done on the basis of marks secured by the aspirants in the entrance examination.

Eligibility for Maulana Azad Universit Ph.D and M.Phil Admissions 2018

Ph.D. (Social Work), Ph.D. (English) & Ph.D. (Hindi)

  1. Doctor of Philosophy(Ph.D.): English/ Hindi/Translation Studies/Arabic/ Persian/ Women Studies/ Public Administration/ Social Work/ Islamic Studies/Education/Management/ Mass Communication & Journalism/Computer Science/ Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy/ Mathematics /Zoology

Course duration: Min. 2 years –Max. 5 years

Eligibility:

  • Aspirants who do not possess M.A./M.Phil. in Translation Studies should have a PG Degree in any subject and fulfil any one of the following conditions: 
  • The aspirant must qualify the entrance test (written and interview) with at least 50% to qualify for admission.
  • The aspirants who have qualified UGC/CSIR- JRF/NET, valid GATE score/SLET/M.Phil. honoured in a related subject are not need to appear in the Written Test. However, they have to qualify the interview.
  • Publication of minimum 5 articles, translated from English to Urdu in reputed Urdu Journals and Magazines/ At Least 3 years’ experience as an English-Urdu Translator in any Government or Semi-Government organization or in any reputed media organization/ Published minimum one book of at least 100 pages, translated from English to Urdu
  • The aspirant should have hold of Master’s Degree in the related discipline with an at least of 55% marks/minimum second class pass (50% for SC/ST/PD/VH) /equivalent grade from MANUU/any other recognised University.

M.Phil. (Arabic) , M.Phil. (Persian) & M.Phil. (Women Studies)

Course duration: 1 year

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must qualify the entrance test (written and interview) with at least 50% to qualify for admission.
  • The aspirant should have hold of Master’s Degree in the related discipline with an at least of 55% marks/minimum second class pass (50% for SC/ST/PD/VH) /equivalent grade from MANUU/any other recognised University.
  • The aspirants who have qualified UGC/CSIR- JRF/NET, valid GATE score/SLET in a related subject do not need to appear in the Written Test.However, they have to qualify the interview.

Important note:

  • Aspirants can appear in the written test even after qualifying UGC/CSIR- JRF/NET, valid GATE score/SLET/M.Phil. as per their choice/interest.
  • The aspirant must have Urdu as one of the subjects of study minimum till 10th /12th class.


How To Apply for MAU Ph.D and M.Phil Admissions 2018

M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

Aspirants must apply for admission via online registration procedure and submit a finished application before May 31, 2018. The aspirants will be informed about the acceptance or rejection of their application form and date of availability of admit cards on the website via SMS, email and University website.

Important scanned documents to be attached with application form:

The aspirant should attach following scanned copies along with the application form and bring original of the same at the time admission to confirm eligibility:

  1. Transfer Certificate   
  2.  Receipt t of fee paid via challan
  3. Community Certificate (For OC aspirants community certificate not need)   
  4. Certificates for Special categories, if need     
  5. Nativity Certificate if need     
  6.  Graduate Certificate (marks statement of each year)
  7. Master’s Certificate(marks statement for each year)
  8. Photograph  of the participant(a scanned digital image)
  9.  photograph  of a parent/guardian (a scanned digital image)
  10. scanned signature

Note:

  • Application fee for SC/ST/PWD/Women Rs.300/-
  • The application fee for general category is Rs. 500/-
All fields in the application form should be correctly and clearly filled-in with the relevant information. The aspirant should preserve the same till the completion of the admission procedure.
  • The aspirant should attach the necessary scanned documents along with application form.
  • The admit cards for Applicable participants will be made available for downloading from the University's Website only.
  • The aspirant should log on to the university website and follow the given steps:

    1. In the “Admissions” section, click on “Online Application” Link
    2. Click on “Apply Now” button and fill in the application form
    3. Aspirants should fill up all the need information correctly and ensure online submission of the form, by clicking the SUBMIT Button.
    4. After filling the basic information online, the aspirant must pay the prescribed fee (printed on the challan which is generated online) at any discipline of State Bank of India.
    5. The application number (Username) and password are generated while applying online.


    Admission Procedure of MAU (Maulana Azad University) Ph.D and M.Phil Admissions 2018

    M.Phil/Ph.D in Arts

    Admission Procedure: Admission to different Ph.D./M.Phil. Degree programmes shall be based on the qualification of the Entrance Test organizeed by the University.

    Aspirants who have qualified in the examinations like CSIR-UGC /NETJRF/lectureship, SET/SLET examination of various Indian states, JRF examination of ICAR/ICMR/DBT/GATE, DST-Inspire fellowship, or regular M.Phil. Degree holders qualified via entrance test required not to appear in the entrance examination. Selection of such aspirants shall be made on the basis of interview.
