Manonmaniam Sundaranar University was founded in Tamil Nadu on September 7, 1990, has 550 acres of Campus which has different programmes of higher learning giving students a platform to attain excellence in numerous fields. The university also has 61 affiliated college, 5 Mano Colleges and 1 constituent college. There are 24 academic departments in the university which provides Part-time, Full-time Postgraduate, M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes in different branches. Along with this, diploma courses are also a part of the curriculum of the university.

Directorate of Distance and Continuing Education, MSU provides Under Graduate and PG programmes in different specializations in Arts, Science, Commerce, and Management in distance mode. The aspirants who are ready to study in MSU via distance method can download the application form from university’s website which is to be sent along with a draft or challan of SBI drawn in favor of “The Registrar, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli” payable at Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu.

The university organizes direct admissions to courses in Distance mode. Aspirants who have finished their graduation in distance method are also eligible for applying to distance Post Graduate programs in MSU.

Step to Apply

BA , MA & BBA/BBM

  • Aspirants applying to courses provided by Manonmaniam Sundaranar University must go via the prospectus and read cautiously the details about the course.
  • Application form can be downloaded from MSU’s Official website.
  • The application form must be filled in by the aspirant themselves in their own handwriting.
  • After the aspirant has read all the details he/she should proceed to fill the application form.
    • Once the form is filled according to the rules mentioned in the prospectus the form should be attached along with a demand draft or challan SBI – Power Jothi Scheme (DD& CE A/c. No. 32723644765 drawn in the favor of “The Registrar, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University, Tirunelveli” payable at Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu.
    • The self-attested Xerox of the following certificates should be sent along with the set of original certificates with the application form(the original certificates will be returned after the verification):
      • Transfer Certificate/ Migration Certificate/ Evidence of Date of Birth.
      • Statement of Marks of 10th and 12th/ Diploma for Under Graduate Admission.
      • Statement of Marks of 10th, 12th and Under Graduate and Provisional Certificate/ Degree Certificate for Post Graduate Admission.

      The filled in application forms along with the demand draft/challan and the certificates should access the Director on or before the prescribed date.

      All the correspondence and communication (along with application forms) should be addressed to the Director, D.D. & C.E., M.S. University, Tirunelveli- 627012.

      Selection Procedure

      MA , BBA/BBM & MBA/PGDM

      Selection of aspirants to Under Graduate and Post Graduate distance courses in Manonmaniam Sundaranar University is carried out simply via filling up the admission form and following the application procedure. The university has no entrance test for the distance courses.

      Aspirants want admission will be admitted via a common entrance test for each discipline, followed by an interview; the University Research Section in the University premises will organize both the entrance test and the interview. The result is valid for one year only

      The written exam shall be in the forenoon session and interview will be organize in the afternoon session

      The Interview will be organize by forming different interview committees followed by the exam and marks allotted for the interview will be a maximum of 50

      At the time of interview, the Aspirants are expected to discuss their research interest/area Pass Percentage in the entrance exam (combined marks of both written exam and interview) shall be as given below General - 55%

      SC/ST/BC, MBC/DNC - 50%
