MPKV (Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth) has mandate assigned for advancements in teaching, research and imparting extension education to the farmers of the State. The University has 2 faculties namely Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering which provide undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes.

The university provides the following research programme in several branches:

  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) 

Admission to the abovementioned programmes is done via merit in the qualifying examination. Aspirantcanregisterthemselves for admission by submitting finished applications along with the procedureingfee of Rs.600/- (in case of GC) and Rs. 300/- (in case of SC/ST/OBC)

Eligibility Criteria
M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Science

Ph.D. is provided by the university in the following branches:

  • Agriculture – (162 seats)

Eligibility: Aspirant must possess a degree in M.Sc. (Agri.) / M.Sc. (Hort.) or any other recognized Agriculture University with minimum 6.5 CGPA.

  • Agriculture Engineering(25 seats)

Eligibility: Aspirant must possess a degree in M.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) in the related subject or any other recognized Agriculture University with minimum 6.5 CGPA

Step to Apply

  • Aspirants must apply for admission via online registration procedure from the official MCAER website and submit finished applications. Hsg. Aspirants can also submit the fee via Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of ‘Financial Advisor, MCAER, Pune Kalp Technologies Pvt. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information
  • The aspirant should log on to the university website and follow the given steps:
  1. In the “Admissions” section, click on “Online Application” tab.
  2. Click on “Apply Now” button and fill in the application form with all the relevant details.
  3. Click on “Save” button if you required to make any changes to the application form or click on “Submit” button if all the particulars are correct
  • In order to complete the application procedure, aspirants must submit the registration fee of Rs. 600/- (Rs. 300/- for reserved category aspirants) via Challan in State Bank of India disciplines or via Debit Card, Credit Card and Net Banking. Candidates can also submit the fee through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favor of Financial Advisor, MCAER, Pune
  • Upon successful submission of online applications, the aspirant should take a printout of duly filled-in application form and send it along with all the self-attested copies of his/her relevant documents and a recent passport size photograph by Post or by Courier Service to the following address:

Admission Procedure

Selection of the aspirants will be done on the basis of their merit in the qualifying 10+2 examination.

Aspirants will be selected on the basis of following aspects:

Overall Academic Performance

Common Entrance Test score

Required Documents at the time of admission:

All Academic Marksheets

Grade card of the qualifying examination.

School / College (Last attended) Leaving Certificate.

Bonafide Certificate 

Migration Certificate (if applicable).

Domicile Certificate / Residential Certificate.

Caste Certificate (if applicable).

Address proof


The "Common Entrance Test" is affiliated by Maharashtra Agriculture University Examination Board (MAUEB), Pune.

Aspirants must attain the Common Entrance Test.

Reservation Criteria

  • 1 seat is reserved for the in-service aspirants and 2% seats are reserved for other state students.
  • 13% seats are reserved for SC aspirants and 7% seats are reserved for aspirants belonging to ST category
