MPKV (Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth) has mandate assigned for advancements in teaching, research and imparting extension education to the farmers of the State. The University has 2 faculties namely Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering which provide undergraduate as well as postgraduate programmes. The Maharashtra Krishi Vidyapeeth, Rahuri is found on March 29, 1968, and subsequently named as Mahatma Phule Krishi Vidyapeeth (MPKV) after a great social reformer "Mahatma Jyotiba Phule". It has started functioning from October 1969 at Rahuri, District Ahmednagar, Maharashtra, India.

The university provides the following Under-graduate courses in several branches:

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A)
  • Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech)       
  • Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)                 

Admission to the above-mentioned programmes is done via merit in the qualifying examination. Aspirantcanregisterthemselves for admission by submitting finished applications along with the procedures fee of Rs.600/- (in case of GC) and Rs. 300/- (in case of SC/ST/OBC).

Qualified aspirants can apply via the online application forms available on the official MCAER website and submit them upon completion with the need procedure fee. Admission to the graduate programmes is done on the basis of marks secured by the aspirants in the entrance test.

B. Sc. is provided in the following 4 branches:

Eligibility:

The aspirant must have passed +2 examination under 10+2 format from Maharashtra State Board of higher secondary education or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, biology, and English or passed Agriculture Polytechnic.

BE/B.Tech

B.Tech. is provided in the following 2 branches:

  1. Food Technology – (4 years)
  2. Agriculture Engineering – (4 years)

Eligibility:

The aspirant must have passed in +2 examination under 10+2 format from Maharashtra State Board of higher secondary education or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, biology, and English

BBA/BBM

Eligibility: Aspirant must have passed in +2 examination under 10+2 formats from Maharashtra State Board of higher secondary education or equivalent examination with physics, chemistry, biology, English, and mathematics.

Step to Apply

B.Sc (Agriculture), BE/B.Tech & BBA/BBM

  • The aspirant can download the prospectus and related application form available at the official MCAER website
  • Along with duly filled-in applications, aspirants have to submit an application fee of Rs. 600 (Rs. 300 in case of SC/ST/OBC) via Net Banking or DD or by Challan in state bank of India discipline. DD should be drawn in favor of “Financial Advisor, MCAER, Pune” and payable at Pune
  • All category Candidates (including reserved & unreserved) from states other than Maharashtra must pay an application fee of Rs. 600/- through DD
  • Printout of a duly filled-in application along with recent passport size photograph and relevant documents must be sent to any of the Application Receipt Centres of the institution

Note: Aspirants who have passed 10+2 with Agriculture Polytechnic must submit 2 forms. ‘B’ or ‘C’ / Air / Naval /Army wing Certificate
  • Certificate of Games/Sports/Debate/Essay/Elocution allowed by the District Sports Officer
  • A Certificate of the Freedom Fighter of the participant’s parents allowed under the signature of the Honourable Prime Minister / Chief Minister of Maharashtra State.

    13. Defense Personnel Certificate from Zilla Sainik Board
    14. ‘No-Objection Certificate’ from the Employer in case of Inservice Candidate
    15. Migrant/Displaced students from Jammu and Kashmir State should submit Certificate from the Competent Authority
    16. Certificate of Handicapped issued by the Competent Authority (if applicable)
    17. Economical Backward Class (EBC) Certificate issued on or after January 1, 2015
  • Admission Procedure

    B.Sc (Agriculture), BE/B.Tech & BBA/BBM

    Admission to all Under Graduate programmes shall be done on the basis of marks obtained in Common Entrance Test, organized by MAHARASHTRA COUNCIL OF AGRICULTURAL EDUCATION AND RESEARCH (MCAER).

    for persons who and whose parents have not resided in the state atleast for three years during the period of ten years immediately preceding the date on which admission is sought, will be limited to 2%.

    For admission to UG courses, 70% seats of the admission capacity will be filled in from amongst the Aspirants who have passed the qualifying examination from the school or the institution situated in the university area (u quota) and remaining 30% seats will be kept open for all the Aspirants (m quota).

    The applicant residing in state of Maharashtra, but passing qualifying examination of Under graduate courses out of Maharashtra, his candidature will be considered under 'M' quota at MCAER level.

    One seat at each college for undergraduate programme shall be filled in by MCAER, Pune from the wards of displaced citizens and wards of officers/staff of military and paramilitary forces all India services posted to combat terrorists activities in Jammu and Kashmir state. In view of govt. resolution No. AGU-2095/2310/CR-181/19a dated 5th September, 1996 and No. AGU-1197/28688/CR/94/97/19-a, dated 27th October 1997 over and above the intake capacity.

    Admission to all the degree programme shall be on merit and provisional.

    The out of state Aspirants should submit their application form to the Director General, MCAER, Pune.

    University/State Council shall not accept any responsibility for postal delay.

    Receipt of the application together with its enclosures as above, shall be acknowledged in case of those, who submit the application in person.

    The Registrar shall display a complete merit list of applications received on the Notice Board of the University and respective colleges as per the admission programme. The Aspirants in their own interest shall see the merit list on the Notice Boards. The Aspirants shall not be intimated about their merit by post.

    Applicants aggrieved by the merit list may prefer an appeal to the Registrar, incase of University area and to the Director (Education) MCAER, Pune in case of all other Aspirants within five days from the date of display of the aforesaid merit list with a fee of Rs.50/- If the applicant fails to appeal within five working days, his appeal shall not be considered. The appeal of the Aspirants will be decided by the Grievance Committee on the basis of the documents attached by the applicant with the original application form only. The decision of the Grievance Committee will be notified on the University Notice Board.

    Reservation Criteria

    70% seats will be reserved for university quota i.e. (U-Quota) and 30% will be served for state quota i.e. (S-Quota) aspirants

    Reservation in case of Non- granted colleges:

    • 20% seats will be reserved for management quota.
    • Out of remaining, 80% seats - 30% seats are reserved for Maharashtra quota and 70% for university quota.
