Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) is an autonomous educational institution which was founded exclusively for the development of education and learning; organize of research and extension education and transfer the rural-oriented technologies in the areas of Veterinary, Animal, Dairy and Fisheries Sciences in Karnataka.

KVAFSU invites applications for the admission to the undergraduate programmes for the academic year 2018-19 for Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. and AH) Programme, Bachelor of Technology (Doctor of Technology) B.Tech. (D.Tech.) programme and Bachelor of Fisheries Science (B.F.Sc.) programme. You can obtain the application form online from the University website. The selection of B.V.Sc. and AH programme is via the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET).

Eligibility Criteria for KVAFSU UG Admissions 2018

Bachelor of Veterinary Science [BVSc] & A.H.

You should have a passed with an at least of 50 % aggregate marks for general category and 40% marks for SC/ST category and Cat – I in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English of the second year PUC of Karnataka Pre-University Board or its equivalent examination. of Karnataka, Bangalore. You should have appeared for common entrance test (CET) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology organizeed by Karnataka Examination Authority, Govt.

Age: You should be completing 17 years of age as on 31st December of that academic year.

Bachelor of Fisheries Science [BFSc]

You should have passed the second year PUC of Karnataka Pre-University Board or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as elective subjects.

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Dairy Technology)

You should have passed the second year PUC of Karnataka Pre-University Board or its equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics as elective subjects.


How to apply for KVAFSU UG Admissions 2018?

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Dairy Technology) , Bachelor of Fisheries Science [BFSc] & Bachelor of Veterinary Science [BVSc] & A.H.

You can download the Application forms from the University website. Only one application form is sufficient to apply for all the degree programmes.

Fill in the applications with the necessary information. You form should be clear in all respects. If you are claiming seat under Agriculturist quota, you should also enclose photocopies of the relevant Certificates.

Attach a DD and necessary enclosures for admission are to be submitted to the Registrar, KVAFSU, Nandinagar, BIDAR-585 401


Selection Procedure of KVAFSU (Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University) UG Admissions 2018

Bachelor of Veterinary Science [BVSc] & A.H.

For B.V.Sc. There is no negative marking. The merit list shall be prepared for allocation of seats by taking into account the marks. of Karnataka. You should obtain 50% of the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry and Biology of common entrance test organizeed by Govt. & AH Programme: You will be selected if you obtain an at least of 50% of the marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology in the Common Entrance Test (CET) organizeed by Govt.

For applying under Agriculture Quota:

The University organizes a practical test (PT) for 200 marks. The merit list is based on this result and prepared as per β€œAt Least Standards of Veterinary Education Regulations 2008” prescribed by Veterinary Council of India.

Common Entrance Test:

Questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 60 questions of one mark each from each subject having total 180 questions with maximum marks of 180. of Karnataka and 50% of the marks secured in practical test (PT) organizeed by the University. The period for solving paper of each subject will be 1 hour 20 minutes.

Practical Test: You will need to identify the specimen and carry out field operations concerned to Veterinary, Dairy and Fisheries and allied sciences including agriculture subjects.

Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Dairy Technology) & Bachelor of Fisheries Science [BFSc]

For B.Tech (D.Tech) Programme & B.F.Sc. You will have to submit a separate application as and when called by VCI/ICAR New Delhi and take All India Competitive Examinations and attend Counseling at New Delhi for seat allocation.

You should obtain 50% of the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in 2nd year PUC or its equivalent and 50% of the marks secured in practical test (PT) organizeed by the University

Practical Test: You will need to identify the specimen and carry out field operations concerned to Veterinary, Dairy and Fisheries and allied sciences including agriculture subjects.

 

Note: If you are from States other than Karnataka, you are not applicable to seek admission straight for all Undergraduate Degree Programmes in the University. Programme: You will be selected on the basis of marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & Biology in the 2nd-year Pre-University examination of Karnataka or its equivalent.

For applying under Agriculture Quota:

The University organizes a practical test (PT) for 200 marks. However, you can apply via the Veterinary Council of India / Indian Council of Agricultural Research, New Delhi. The merit list shall be prepared for allocation of seats by taking into account the marks.


Reservation Criteria for KVAFSU (Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University) UG Admissions 2018

The reservation criteria are based on the policy of Government of Karnataka governing admission to higher educational institutions.

  • General Category: 76.2%
  • Agriculturalists or children of Agriculturalists: 23.8%

The seats under this quota will be filled up by organizing practical test as determined and specified in the prospectus from time to time.

Special Categories (NCC, Sports, Scouts and Guides, Children of Defence Personnel, Children of Ex-servicemen, Aspirants with Physical Disability (PD), Aspirants from Anglo-Indian Community): 12%
