Karnataka Veterinary, Animal and Fisheries Sciences University (KVAFSU) is an autonomous educational institution which was founded exclusively for the development of education and learning; organize of research and extension education and transfer the rural-oriented technologies in the areas of Veterinary, Animal, Dairy and Fisheries Sciences in Karnataka. The University provides postgraduate and doctoral degree programmes in the Faculty of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Dairy and Fisheries Sciences.

KVASU invites applications for admission to the postgraduate course for the academic year. Tech.) - available at Dairy Science College, Bangalore. D. The courses comprise Master of Veterinary Science (M.V.Sc.) – available at Veterinary College at both Bidar and Bangalore, Master of Fisheries Science (M.F.Sc.)-available at College of Fisheries, Mangalore, and Master of Technology (Doctor of Technology) (M.Tech.

 All courses are for a period of 2 years i.e., four semesters. The admission for the courses is via a written test organized by the University.

Merit Screening
Admission is based on marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology in 2nd year Pre University exam of Karnataka or its equivalent.

Application Form for Foreign Students

Foreign candidates applying for PG courses can send their application forms along with their biodata to the university through ICAR or agencies/ consultants nominated by ICAR/ GOI, New Delhi or through their embassies.NRI/ NRI sponsored candidates applying for PG courses can send their application form along with their biodata and proof of NRI status through Indian embassies of their respective countries. Eligibility Criteria

MVSc & ME/M.Tech

  • You should possess a Bachelor degree in the respective subject from a recognized University / Institute on or before the due date mentioned.
  • You should have 6.00/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for general category and 5.50/10 or equivalent OGPA/equivalent percentage of marks for SC/ST/Cat-I aspirants at bachelor degree level.
  • Nationality: You should be a citizen of India and must have studied in any educational institution in Karnataka State for a duration of seven academic years at any time up to the Bachelor degree as on 1st July of the admission year. However, if vacancies are left in a particular subject then the domicile requirement of 7 years could be relaxed to outside State aspirants.

Fill in the form with the necessary details. Application Fee of Rs. 600 for general category participants and Rs. 300 for SC/ST/Cat -1 participants in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favor of Comptroller, KVAFSU, Bidar has to be paid along with the application.

Selection Procedure

MVSc & ME/M.Tech

Your selection will be done on the basis of your performance in bachelor degree programme and written test organized by the University.

Written Test: It will be of undergraduate level and will contain 100 objective type questions with four answers. You will be given due weightage if you have won medals in academics, sports, and cultural activities, passed in ICAR/JRF examinations and if are Physically handicapped / Anglo-Indians / Scouts & Guides / Children of Ex-Servicemen / Defence personnel.

The scheme of evaluation is as follows. You should be able to secure at least 50% of the total marks:

Reservation Criteria

  • Provision is also made for admission on payment of institutional economic fees for Foreign National/ Children of NRI.
  • One seat in each department for Master’s degree notified above is reserved for aspirants sponsored by GOK, GOI, State Veterinary / Agricultural Universities.
  • The seats shall be reserved in accordance with the existing reservation policy of Govt. of Karnataka.
