KIMS (Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences) is the Deemed University imparting Medical/ dental/paramedical education, research, and training. The University has Medical, Dental, Physiotherapy, Nursing and Biotechnology constituent colleges. The university and provides admission to the following Ph.D. programmes

Only the aspirants with the related Post Graduate degree/Post Graduate Diploma/Under Graduate degree ( Special case) can register for the above-mentioned programmes. Seats are reserved for people belonging to various categories such as SC/ST/BC etc.

Aspirants can register for admission by filling-in the online/Offline application form and be submitting the need procedure fee. Admission to the above programmes is done on the basis of marks secured by the aspirants in the Entrance examination/interview.

Eligibility Criteria
Ph.D. (Community Medicine), Ph.D. (Nursing) & Ph.D. (Pharmacology)

  • The aspirant should have passed the Post-graduate examination in the related subject with at least 50% marks / an equivalent grade from a recognized university.
  • Aspirants who have passed 2 years Diploma /Degree in the subject of Human Health Sciences are also qualified for Ph.D. registration.
  • Aspirants with graduate qualification and at least 15 years professional experience in professional faculties like Ayurveda, Medicine, Law, Homeopathy etc. Aspirants who have passed M.Sc. /2 years Diploma /Degree in the subject of Human Health Sciences are also qualified for Ph.D. registration.

Note: In case the aspirant does not have any Post Graduate qualification, Centre for Advanced Studies with the consultation of Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor can allow the aspirant for Ph.D. registration under.

Course Duration

  • Candidates who possess M Sc (medical Subjects) can submit the thesis after the completion of three years.
  • Candidates who possess MD/MS/Post Graduate Diploma can submit the thesis after the completion of two years.

Step to Apply

Aspirants must apply for admission via online/offline registration procedure and submit a finished application. All fields in the application form should be correctly and completely filled-in with the relevant information.

Online Procedure: Aspirant should log on to the university website and follow the given steps:

    In the “Admissions” section, click on “Online Application” Link

    Click on “Apply Now” button and fill in the application form

    The aspirant should download the completely and correctly filled application form.

    The  print out of the  downloaded application form along with the Demand Draft of Rest 1,500/- in favour of Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, payable at Karad should be submitted before the last date  to ‘The Competent Authority, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences University, Near Dhebewadi Road, Tal:Karad – 415110, Dist.  Satara Maharashtra state’. After filling out the application form completely, it should be submitted to the university office along with the application fee before the last date.

      Offline Process: candidates can obtain the application form from the university office. After filling out the application form completely, it should be submitted to the university office along with the application fee before the last date.

      Note: The aspirant should ensure that the downloaded/offline application form must have the recent color photograph of the aspirant, signature of the aspirant and left thumb impression of the aspirant.

        The aspirant must bring this downloaded, photo affixed and duly signed application and the following certificates in original along with two sets of attested copies only at the time of admission/interview:   

        1. Qualifying degree certificate/other equivalent mark sheet   
        2. Transfer Certificate   
        3. Community Certificate (For OC aspirants community certificate not need)   
        4. Certificates for Special categories, if need     
        5. Nativity Certificate
        6. Work experience certificate (if need)

        Important Note:

        The application fee for aspirants: Rs. 1500/-

        The application fee is non-refundable.

        Selection Procedure

        Ph.D. (Community Medicine), Ph.D. (Nursing) & Ph.D. (Pharmacology)

        Aspirants will be selected for the programme on the basis of their merit in the Entrance examination/an Interview procedure administered by the University.

        Aspirants who have passed the NET/SET/GATE/JRF/M.Phil. Or UGC/CSIR/NBHM fellows do not need to appear the entrance test. Selection of aspirants shall be based on the presentation and interview procedure.
