Kerala University provides several undergraduate programs including BBA, B.Sc., BA, BA(Hons.), B.Com., BPA, BSW, BA Music, BFA, B.P.Ed, BPA, B.Des., B.P.T, BASLP and B. Pharm. While many of these are merit-based, several of them offer admission via an entrance test organized by the University itself.

The courses are based on the Choice Based Credit and Semester System and all programs except B.P.Ed and BFA are called First Degree Programs. The admission to these courses is based on Online Central Allocation (OCA), and this procedure will offer an opportunity to apply to any of the colleges affiliated to Kerala University. You should apply to the course before the closure of the registration deadline, which is the same for all categories.

The allocation will strictly depend on the merit of the aspirant for the First Degree Programs.

For Programs of BFA, B.P.Ed., BPA, B.Des. and BA Music, an entrance test, and aptitude exam are organized.

UOK UG Admissions 2018 Eligibility Criteria


Aspirants must have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the state or an equivalent exam, with the subject opted for as one of the main subjects.


Aspirants must have passed Higher Secondary Examination of state or an equivalent Exam accepted by the University.


The aspirant must have passed Higher Secondary Examination of the State or an Examination accepted by the University as equivalent thereto with Mathematics as one of the optional subjects.


Aspirants must have passed Higher Secondary or any other Examination accepted by the university as equivalent thereto with any subject combination with at least of 45% marks in aggregate.

Bachelor of Social Work [BSW]

Aspirants must have passed Higher Secondary Examination or its equivalent recognised by the University.

Bachelor of Fine Arts [BFA]

  • Students who have passed the Second year Ganabhooshanam are also applicable to apply for I BFA Course.
  • Aspirants who have passed B.A/B.Sc./B.Com. degree examination from other Universities can be permitted to join I year BFA if they fulfill eligibility condition.
  • A pass in the Pre-degree /Plus two examination or an equivalent qualification recognised by the University of Kerala.
  • There is no age limit for Admission to BFA

UOK UG Admissions 2018 How to apply?


  • After registering, save your application no. This is not a guarantee of any seat.
  • After this, there will be a first allocation list allowed by the colleges indicating which courses one is applicable for.
  • Aspirants can register on Kerala Universityโ€™s Official Website. for the course, they are ready to pursue.

Note that the Registration fees for applying online are as follows:

  • For General Aspirants: Rs.250/-
  • For SC/ST Aspirants: Rs.100/-
The hard copy should not be sent to the University.
  • Allocation of seats will happen in a trial allocation session where the aspirant will get an idea as to how he/she should expect an admission. and password
  • The aspirants must log in and fill in the aspirant profile registration.
  • Next step for completing the registration is filling the academic profile registration form.
  • Download the Challan and enter registration fee Remittance Details
  • Aspirants must then upload their photograph and signature.
  • Select the course and verify your application cautiously.
  • Print out the application form which should be produced at the time of admission.

    B.Sc, BA & BCA

    Admission to the course will be based on the following criteria:

    • Marks secured in the qualifying examination
    • Marks secured in subject of concentration

    UOK UG Admissions 2018 Reservation Criteria

    Allocation of seats:

    Scheduled Caste/ Scheduled Tribe20%
    Community to which the College belongs10%-20%

    The rest of the seats will be filled by the Educational Agency by the aspirants that they choose.

    There are several reservations that are considered during the allocation of seats:

    • Special Reservation for Sports aspirant based on their proficiency in Sports
    • Reservation for people with disabilities
    • Reservation for nominees: Aspirants from Lakshadweep, Wards of Kashmiri Migrants, Aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir, Inmates of Government Children Home, Tamil Linguistic Minority, widows/wards of Armed Personnel killed/disabled in action during peacetime.

    The certificates to be produced by students under the reserved category are compulsory. It should be done during the online registration.

    You will need to produce all original documents at the time of admission to verify your claims made in the online application form.

    Aspirants belonging to the SEBC category will have to produce a community certificate and an Income certificate.

    The merit of a student, i.e. the marks scored in the qualifying examination in programs will be counted for the admission to different courses. Having an NCC/NSS certificate in a course helps the student to secure bonus marks.
