University of Kerala, one of the first 16 Universities in India, provides undergraduate and post-graduate courses in different fields having 150 Govt. run/Private Aided and Private Unaided colleges affiliated to it. 

Kerala University is one of the first universities which provides L.L.B, Integrated L.L.B and L.L.M. While the aspirant can clear the L.L.B course within a duration of 3 years, the Integrated L.L.B. and LL.M. course have the period of 5 years and 2 years respectively. courses.

Admission of aspirants to the above mentioned courses will be done on the basis of their performance in the Entrance Exam. Those want admission can register themselves by submitting the online application form, along with the need processing fee.

Kerala University LL.B. & LL.M. Admissions 2018 Eligibility Criteria

LLB & LLM

The following section contains information regarding eligibility criteria for various courses provided by Kerala University.

LLB

For LLB, you require 45% marks in your Bachelor’s degree

For LLB Integrated course, you require 10+2 with at least marks of 45% and you should be more than 17 years of age.

For LLM, you should have passed LLB with a at least score of 50%.

LLB (3 years)

  • Aspirants who are appearing for the final exams of the qualifying examination are also applicable to apply for this course.
  • The aspirant should be a citizen of India and must have graduated in any college of the University of Kerala or an equivalent college.
  • Aspirants should have passed their Bachelor’s examination with an at least of 45%. Although aspirants belonging to the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe required 40 % score to be applicable to apply for this course.

Integrated LLB Program (5 Years)

Aspirants who have passed 10+2 with an at least score of 45% and 40% (in case of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe) are applicable to apply for this programme if they have finished the age of 17 on December 31, 2015.

LLM

The aspirant should have passed L.L.B (either a 3-year course or a 5 year integrated course) with an at least score of 50% from either the University of Kerala or an equivalent University.

Kerala University LL.B. & LL.M. Admissions 2018 How to Apply

LLB & LLM

  • Aspirants should log in to apply online and fill the application form with all the relevant information
  • Along with the printout of the application form, the aspirant must attach copies of the following documents:
  • The aspirant must submit the fee via the Bank Challan at the assigned State Bank of Travancore
  • Aspirants must log on to Kerala entrance examinations website to register themselves and generate the application number and password
  • Upon successful submission of finished applications, an aspirant should take the print out of the application form and Bank Challan to deposit the processing fee
  1. Original challan
  2. Self-attested copy of SSLC or any equivalent school records/birth certificate/ other valid documents to prove date of birth
  3. A true copy of the pass certificate mark list of all parts of the qualifying examination (if passed).
  4. Non-Creamy Layer Certificate in support of the claim for communal reservation for SEBC in the original.
  5. Community Certificate in support of the claim for communal reservation for SC/ST in the original.
  6. Inter-Caste marriage Certificate, in which one of the parents belongs to SC/ST if eligible (original).
  7. Original certificate in support of special reservation, if eligible (in the prescribed pattern).
  8. Attested copy of Certificate from the Medical Board for Persons with Disabilities.
  9. Any other documents mentioned in the Notification of the Entrance Examination
  • The aspirant should post the application form and the copy of the Bank challan to the following address:

Kerala University LL.B. & LL.M. Admissions Procedure 2018

The following section contains information regarding selection procedure for LL.B./LL.M. provided by Kerala University.

LLB

LL.B. (3 years) / Integrated LL.B. (5 years)

Admission of aspirants will be done on the basis of their performance and rank in the Entrance Exam. The entrance exam will be held for a period of 3 hours and consist of 200 objective type questions based on the following topics:

  • General knowledge and  (65 Questions)
  • Aptitude for legal studies (70 Questions)
  • General English (65 Questions)

For each accurate response, the aspirant will be honored 1 mark while one mark will be deducted for an inaccurate response.

  • If the tie still exists, aspirant with higher marks in the part ‘English’ of the Entrance Examination will be placed higher in the ranking.
  • In case of a tie with respect to the total marks scored in the entrance examination, the aspirant who secures higher marks in the part ‘Aptitude for legal Studies’ of the Entrance Examination will be placed higher in the ranking.
  • If the tie persists, the age of the aspirant will be taken into consideration and the elder will be placed higher than the younger aspirant.

To qualify for admission to LL.B Course, general category aspirants should get minimum 10% of total marks in the Entrance Examination. SC/ST aspirants should score an at least of 5% of total marks.

LLM

Admission of aspirants will be done on the basis of their performance and rank in the Entrance Exam.The Entrance Examination will consist of two papers, each of 90 minutes duration.

Paper I will be of 100 Marks and shall constitute of the following subjects:

  • Constitutional Law (25 Marks)
  • Law of Contracts (25 Marks)
  • Law of Crimes (25 Marks)
  • Jurisprudence (25 Marks)

Paper II will be of 100 Marks and will constitute of the following subjects at its core:

  • Administrative Law (20 Marks)
  • Public International Law (20 Marks)
  • Law of Property (20 Marks)
  • Law of Torts (10 Marks)
  • Company Law (20 Marks)
  • Interpretation  of Statutes (10 Marks)

Special reservation criteria for 5-year Integrated LL.B. programme:

In addition to the 80 seats in each Govt. Law College, 1 seat each in the four Govt. Law Colleges will be reserved for the following categories

  1. Ex-servicemen/Children of Ex-Servicemen.
  2. Blind Aspirants.
  3. Aspirants under Sports Quota.
  4. The Ex-Paramilitary personnel/Children of Ex-Paramilitary personnel

Note : One seat in Govt. Law College, Ernakulam will be reserved for a candidate from Lakshadweep.
