Kerala University of Health Science (KUHS) is the pioneer university in the field of medicine, Allied sciences & homeopathy. Ch. Admission to all Post Graduate courses is clearly merit-based as decided respective competent authorities. Along with the courses in Post Graduate Programmes KUHS also provides super specialty courses in D.M & M. Till now total 249 colleges have been enrolled in KUHS for professional courses in the healthcare industry. University has rules & regulations regarding affiliation of institutes & colleges in Kerala especially to offer professional education in Healthcare & concerned medicine.

Students are advised to check the dates regularly to not to miss the deadlines concerned to application proceedings & commencement of classes. To take admission in KUHS, initially, students have to appear for the medical entrance test organized by Medical/Pharmacy/Dental Council of India with respect to the course. After the briefing of score students required to apply in affiliated colleges of KUHS.

Duration:  3 years


  • Students with Membership of the National Academy of Medical Sciences (M.N.A.M.S) or Diplomat of National Board (DNB) shall be considered equivalent qualification, only if it has been granted on the basis of the results of competent examination and the aspirant has worked in same or concerned specialty in a hospital attached to a medical college for minimum one year during or after the completion of the training duration prescribed by the National Board of Invigilators.
  • The students applying for the post-doctoral course shall have obtained the degree of M.D/M.S. in concerned subject as decided by Medical Council of India (MCI).


Duration: 3 years

Students looking for admission in MDS course must have BDS degree (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) approved by Dental College and University recognised by the Dental Council of India and KUHS.

Doctorate of Medicine [MD] (Homoeopathy)

Duration: 3 years

  • Students should have Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (Graded Degree)or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy comprised in the Second Schedule of the Act, after undergoing a course of study not less than two years duration.
  • Students looking for admission should possess Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery or equivalent qualification in Homoeopathy after undergoing a course of study of not less than five and half years period including one-year mandatory internship.

Duration: 2 years

  • The student who has passed the B. Pharm degree course in an institution approved by AICTE and the Pharm Council of India (PCI).
Pharm degree examination of Kerala University of Health Sciences or equivalent examination with not less than 55% marks.
  • The student should have undergone B.
  • M.Sc (Nursing)

    • The at least educational requirements are passing of regular degree course in Nursing e.g. B.Sc. Nursing / B.Sc. (Hons). Nursing / Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing), with 55% marks, in an institution which is recognised by Indian Nursing Council.
    •  At Least one year of experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing needs.
    • One year mandatory nursing service/internship after successful completion of four years B. Sc. Nursing can also be considered.
    • The student should be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife with Kerala Nurses and Midwives Council.
    • At Least one year of experience prior or after regular Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing.

    Master of Physiotherapy(MPT)

    Students looking for admission in Master in Physiotherapy course should have passed the BPT degree examination of this university or equivalent.

    Master in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology [MASLP]

    Duration: 2 years

    Students must have passed BASLP/B. Sc. (Speech & Hearing) degree or equivalent from any recognised University in India recognised by RCI and approved by Kerala University of Health Sciences.

    Master of Science [M.Sc] (Medical Physiology)

    Duration: 3 years

    Students must have passed any of the following courses with at least of 60% marks (BHMS, BAMS and BDS graduates required only 55% marks) in the qualifying examination from a recognised University given as: B.Sc. Physiology, B.Sc. Zoology, B.Sc. Biochemistry, B.Sc. Biophysics, B.Sc. MLT, B.Sc. Nursing, BPT 8. B.Sc. Biotechnology, B.Sc. Microbiology

    Master of Science [M.Sc] (Optometry)

    Duration: 2 years

    Students must have passed Bachelor of Optometry from Kerala University of Health Sciences or a degree in Bachelor of Optometry (four years) regular programme from any other Universities which is equivalent to the degree of B.Sc. Optometry with at least of 60% marks.


    Duration: 2 years

    • In Commerce or Economics with 50% marks in aggregate and has studied science subjects at plus two level.
    • Students looking for admission should be science graduate with at least of 50% marks in aggregate.

    • A student must pass in D. (3) Any other qualification approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.
    • Students must have passed in 10+2 examination with Physics and Chemistry as mandatory subjects along with one of the following subjects, Mathematics or Biology with an at least of 50% marks for optional subjects.
    Pharm examination with an at least of 50% marks from the institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India, under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act.

    Pharm. Pharm course with at least 50% marks from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India under section 12 of the Pharmacy Act. Post Baccalaureate

    Duration: 2 years with 1 year of internship

    The student must have passed in B.

    Master of Science [M.Sc] (Medical Laboratory Technology)

    Duration: 2 years

    • Students who have passed their B. Sc. (MLT) course from other Universities will be applicable for admission only if their qualifying examination is recognised as equivalent to KUHS.
    • Students who have passed the B. Sc. (MLT) degree of any of the Universities in Kerala with at least of 50% marks for all the years of B. Sc. (MLT) examination taken together will be applicable for admission.

    KUHS PG Medical Admission 2018 How to Apply?

    Students have to apply in KUHS via the affiliated college (in which he/she seeking to take admission) within pre mentioned dates. Students looking for admission have to apply in KUHS via formal application along with the below-mentioned documents:

    1. Marks sheet of Qualifying exam
    2. Transfer certificate
    3. Allocation letter
    4. Sponsorship letter/ employment letter/ passport in case of NRI’s.
    5. The prescribed fee for registration (INR 1000)

    Documents need for MD course at the time of Application:

    Where eligible, the aspirant has to make an application to the university with the following documents along with the prescribed fee-

    • Certificate of Recognition/Equivalency certificate of the qualifying examination in case of aspirants who have passed BDS/equivalent degree from universities outside Kerala.
    • Permanent Registration Certificate from State Dental Council.
    • BDS degree certificate allowed by the University / another recognised university / equivalent dental degree recognised by DCI.

    KUHS PG Medical Admission Procedure 2018

    Selection will be performed by creating a merit list on the basis of score obtained in entrance exam organized by KUHS/Medical Council of India (MCI)/ Dental Council of India (DCI). Admission procedure will be finalized by the respective college in which a student has been admitted.

    Note: No admission will be made after September 30, 2018 (tentative).
