Kerala University M.Tech. Admission 2018 Eligibility Criteria
Check various eligibility norms for different Post Graduate programmes provided by the University of Kerala.
Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Electronics and Communication Engineering) & Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Optoelectronics and Optical Communication)
Aspirants under sponsored seats must have an at least experience of two years in the relevant field and must be sponsored by the industry/training/research organizations.
Students must have obtained B. Tech/ B.E in concerned fields with 55% marks.
5 seats for sponsored students and 3 seats for SC/ST students out of a total of 18 seats have been reserved.
Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)
Or First Class Master’s degree in Computer Science / Computer Application from the University of Kerala or equivalent recognised the degree of a recognised University.
Students must have passed B. Tech / B.E in concerned fields
Master of Technology [M.Tech] (Technology Management)
B. Tech Degree or equivalent in any discipline of Engineering / Technology with minimum 55% marks from any of the recognised Universities in India.
Admissions to sponsored seats will be governed by the following AICTE guidelines. The aspirants should have:-
Admissions to non-sponsored seats will be made on the basis of valid GATE score.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering / Technology with minimum 55% marks from AICTE approved institutions. Preference will be given to aspirants who have qualified GATE.
An at least two-years of full-time work experience in a registered firm/company/industry / educational and research institution / any Government Department or Government Autonomous Organization in the relevant field.
Less than 45 years of age as on 1st day of the year of admission.
Master of Social Work [MSW]
Students must have passed Bachelor’s Degree with 45% marks from this university or from a University with the equivalent standard.
Usual relaxation from the at least marks for SC/ST and OEC aspirants, as may be prescribed by the University from time to time, shall be eligible for this course also.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science)
Those students are also applicable who have undergone B. Sc. Electronics or BCA or any other Science degree with Mathematics/ Computer Science/ Computer Applications/ Computer Maintenance as one of the subjects.
Students must have passed B. Sc. With not less than 60% marks.
Students must have passed B. Ed. Degree with 55% marks in aggregate.

Pay in the slip of INR 500 or Demand Draft of INR 500 drawn in favor of “The Finance Officer, Kerala University” payable at Thiruvananthapuram, allowed by SBT/SBI or District Cooperative Bank. Name of the student should be written on the back side of the DD.

Master of Social Work [MSW] & Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science)
Students can obtain the application form & prospectus from all centers of UIT by paying INR 200 in cash.
Duly filled application form along with all relevant documents should access to the respective office of the principal of UIT centers.
Students can also obtain the application form via a post by sending a request letter (self-addressed stamp of INR 22 along with the cost of application fee) to the respective center.
Application form can also be obtained from the UIT center by paying the fee of INR 210 drawn in favor of “The Finance Officer, Kerala University” allowed by SBI/SBT/DCB payable at the Main discipline of SBI, Thiruvananthapuram.
Kerala University M.Tech. Admission Procedure 2018
Aspiring students can check the separate admission procedure for various Post Graduate programmes provided by the University of Kerala.
Students will be selected on the basis of valid GATE score or entrance exam organized by University.
When GATE qualified aspirants are not available, admission will be given to Non-GATE aspirants on merit. Ranking will be done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination and the entrance test in the 40: 60.
In case of sponsored aspirants ranking will be done on the following basis:
Entrance exam: 50% weight to marks secured in the Entrance Exams
Qualifying exams: 40% weight will be given to the marks secured in the qualifying exam by the aspirant.
Experience: 10% weight will be given to the work experience of the aspirant.
Such admissions will be based on an entrance test organized by the University of Kerala. Master of Social Work [MSW] & Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science)
Although the selection procedure is clearly merit-based in case of entrance test, the division of marks is as follows.
A weight of 40 % of the marks scored in the qualifying examination.
A weight of 30% of the marks obtained in the entrance test organized by the university for this purpose.
A weight of 15 % for the performance of the aspirant in group discussion and, a weight of 15% for the performance of the aspirant in the interview.
