The University of Kerala provides a day course and an evening course for Masters in Business Administration Degree Programme. There are 40 seats for MBA regular programme. Generally, the application procedure starts from the month of January every year.  The University invites all the application for admission to MBA Programme for the academic session of 2018-19.

This year the last date to apply for all MBA Programmes is January 20, 2018 (tentative). The University of Kerala has two constituent colleges:

  • University Institute of Management (UIM)
  • Institute of Management in Kerala (IMK)

The MBA and MBA evening programmes are available in IMK and UIM respectively. Both the entrances tests are organized by the University of Kerala. To get admission in University Institute of Management the aspirants required to appear for KU-MAT entrance test and Institute of Management in Kerala the aspirants required to appear for KU-CAT entrance test.

Aspirants want admission in IMK and UIM for MBA Programme will have to appear for entrance tests KU CAT 2018 and KU-MAT respectively for the colleges. The entrances test will for both colleges i.e., IMK and UIM will be organized by the University of Kerala on January 30, 2018 (tentative).

Aspirants may also apply online for the MBA and MBA Evening Programme.

Kerala University MBA Admission 2018 Eligibility Criteria


The Aspirants should have a valid Bachelors degree or Masters Degree from a recognized University or Institute to get admission in both the colleges, which are Institute of Management in Kerala and University Institute of Management.

The Aspirants who are looking forward to getting admission in MBA Programme at IMK must have their MAT/CAT /Kerala MAT /GMAT scores.

Kerala University MBA Admission 2018 How to Apply?


Aspirants can apply online and offline for the entrance examination of MBA programme. Aspirants must fill their accurate details in the application form cautiously.

Aspirants applying for entrance examination online are to follow every single rule while filling the form and to attach all the asked documents (like 10th mark sheet, 12th mark sheet, Bachelors Degree and mark sheet, Passport size Photograph) by scanning the documents and upload them in the desired pattern with the form before submitting it.

Online Application for Entrance Examination of MBA course in Kerala can be submitted via the official website of Kerala MAT.

How to apply for Kerala MAT?

The application fee for general category is Rs. 800/- and for the SC/ST aspirant, Rs. 500/-. The last date for submitting the online application is March 20, 2018 (tentative).

Application for admission to Entrance Examination of MBA course Kerala can be submitted only through online on the official website of Kerala MAT.

There are two stages of submitting the application.

Stage 1: Remitting Application fee online

  • There are given some following steps to remit the application fee
  • Visit Kerala MAT’s Official website.
  • Click on the link “New Student- Remit Application Fee”.
  • Fill all the need details such as Name, Age, Date of Birth(in DD/MM/YYYY pattern), Mobile Number and E-MailID and complete the online fee payment procedure. The details entered during online fee payment cannot be changed later.
  • You should pay application fee via online only by way of Netbanking/CreditCard/DebitCard facility of any of the banks.

    • You will get an ‘SB Collect Reference Number ’ and a receipt of payment of fee after successful payment of the Application fee online. You should take a printout of the online receipt. SB Collect Reference number is important for later logging into the site to continue with stage 2.

    Stage 2: Completing Online Application Submission

    You can fill online application after 24 hours of payment of application fee. There are given some points for online application submission.

    • Visit Kerala MAT’s official website
    • Click on the link “Login-FeeRemittedCandidate”.
    • Login with the help of SB Collect Reference Number and Date of Birth.
    • Click on the button “Browse” and select the photograph file. Then click on the button “Upload’. The photograph will be displayed on the screen after successful uploading. The photograph file must be in jpg pattern with size less than or equal to 20 KB.
    • Now click on the button “Proceed”. The application form is displayed. Fill in all the details correctly and click on the button ‘Save’ to complete the submission.
    • You can click the button “PRINT” and take a printout of the application.

    Note: It does not need to send the hard copy of the application form.

    The following is the selection process followed by the University of Kerala for the Admission of MBA Degree Programme: -

    • The aspirants need to appear for the MBA Entrance Test of the University(KU-MAT for UIM and KU CAT 2018 for IMK) on January 30, 2018 (tentative) at any of the following Centres:
    1. Thiruvananthapuram
    2. Kollam
    3. Alappuzha
    4. Thrissur
    5. Adoor
    • Rank list for admission to the MBA programme will be finalized on the basis of the score obtained in the Entrance Test (70% weightage), Group Discussion (15% weightage) and Interview (15 % weightage) which will be published in the second week of June 2016.
    • All the aspirants who appeared for the entrance examination will be invited to participate in the Group Discussion and Interview.

    • The procedure of counseling for admission will start on the date that will be released soon by the University of Kerala.
    • Aspirants passed degree or Masters Degree of other Universities should produce the Eligibility Certificate alloted by the University of Kerala (Course Equivalency Certificate) at the time of admission. In the column offered as per the order of your preference). It is compulsory that the aspirant produces eligibility certificate at the time of counseling otherwise the aspirant will not be considered for admission.
    • Aspirants need to choose the UIM Centres in order of their preference.
