Karnataka State Women’s University (KSWU) was founded in 2003 and is the first university exclusively for women in Karnataka recognised under the UGC Act. The University offers Post Graduate courses and Ph.D. courses in different branches of arts, commerce, science, technology, education etc.

KSWU offers Ph.D. courses of 4 year period in 12 branches. Admission in these programmes is given on the basis of the qualifying examination, entrance examination organized by the university followed by an interview round.

Aspirants who satisfy the eligibility can register themselves by filling the application form.

KSWU Ph.D. Admissions 2018 Eligibility Criteria

  • Aspirants who have passed M.Phil. or GATE/JRF or belong to FIP/QIP programmes or working under specialized funded programmes are applicable to apply.
  • If the aspirant is employed or in the continuance of their service in affiliated colleges before March-31-1992, they are applicable with an at least of 50% aggregate in master’s degree.
  • The aspirant should have finished his/her Master’s degree in the relevant or allied subjects pertaining to the Ph.D. programme with an at least of 55% aggregate (50% for SC/ST).

 Aspirants can download the application form or may even obtain it in person or by post, here are the details:

  • Aspirants can obtain prospectus and application form online from the official university website
  • Aspirants can obtain application form by post by sending DD of Rs. 540+50 (postal charges) for General category aspirants and Rs.280+50 (postal charges) for SC/ST, enclosed with the copy of caste certificate to the following address:

KSWU Ph.D. Admissions Procedure 2018

  • After completing the registration procedure by filling the application form in all respects and making the registration fee, the students have to appear for a written test and interview and their performance in both will be the criteria for selection of the students for final admission.
  • The 100 marks written test is of three-hour duration, syllabus consisting of the post-graduation subjects.
  • The aspirant will be applicable to give the interview if he/she has scored 40% marks in the entrance test (35% for SC/ST aspirants)
