Kannur University, Kannur is one of the largest universities in the state of Kerala. It is well spread in three districts namely, Kannur, Kasaragod, and Wayanad and has 7 campuses in total. The university provides different courses in the fields of arts, commerce, science, and management.
Kannur University runs different distance education courses at Undergraduate and post-graduation levels. It runs 5 bachelor degree courses and 4 master degree courses. School of distance education was set up for the ease of students who seek to study but cannot attend regular classes due to various reasons.
The mode of instruction comprises printed study material in Self Learning Mode, Personal Contact Program, Orientation Program, Dissertations/Projects in selected courses. It also offers different other students support services such as Counselling of students, guidance from eligible and experienced teachers.

Bachelor of Arts
For Afzal-Ul-Ulama: You must have passed Afzal-Ul-Ulama Preliminary/higher secondary examination/ Pre-Degree Examination.
For other branches: You must have passed Pre-Degree / Plus Two or any Examination that stands Equivalent.B.Com
Course provided: B.Com in Co-Operation
Eligibility Criteria: You must have passed Pre-Degree /Plus Two or Examination Equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks for Non-Commerce students and a pass for Commerce students.BBA/BBM
Eligibility Criteria: You must have passed Pre-Degree /Plus Two or Examination Equivalent with a minimum of 45% marks for Non-Commerce students and pass for Commerce students.BCA
Eligibility Criteria: A pass in Higher Secondary Examination of the state or an Examination accepted by the University as equivalent with Mathematics or Computer Science or Computer Application or Informatics Exercises as one of the optional subjects.
The course provided: B.Sc. in Mathematics
Eligibility Criteria: You must have passed Pre-Degree /Plus Two or Examination equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects.
Course Provided: M.Sc. in Mathematics
Grading: Pass in B.Sc. (Mathematics) with CGPA 1. 5 or CGPA 2.00 in Part III.
Non Grading: Pass in B.Sc. Mathematics with a minimum of 50% marks in Part III main (excluding subsidiaries)M.Com
The course provided: M.Com.
Eligibility Criteria: Grading: Pass in B.Com / B.B.A / B.B.M / BBS with CGPA 1.5 or CGPA 2.00 in Part III.
Non Grading: Pass in B.Com / B.B.A / B.B.M / B.B.S equivalent Degree with not less than 45% marks in Part III.MA
MA in English:
Grading: A pass in B.A in concerned subject with CGPA 1.5 or CGPA 2.00 in Part III or a pass in BA / B.Sc. with SGPA 1.5 in Part I English with three papers.
Non Grading: A pass in B.A. in concerned subject with a minimum of 45% marks in Part III main (Excluding Subsidiaries) or a pass in B.A / B.Sc. Degree with a minimum of 45% marks in Part I of the course with three papers.MBA/PGDM

School of Distance Education provides direct admissions to all the course. Aspirants are selected on the basis of their performance in the qualifying degree examinations.
SC/ST/OEC aspirants will have the following options for availing fee exemption (subject to Government rules)
Relaxation of Marks:
SC/ST/OEC and OBC aspirants are qualified to get relaxation of 10% and 5% marks respectively in the minimum marks prescribed for admission under Non-grading format subject to a minimum for the pass.
