Kannur University, Kerala offers several Post-Graduate courses under Choice Based Credit Semester System (CBCSS). With respect to the university’s guidelines, one seat in each Post Graduate programme has been reserved for students who belong to the sports category (outstanding performer). Candidates who find themselves applicable to apply for the postgraduate course provided by the University can apply online within the scheduled date.
University follows a single online application procedure to grant admission in its departments/centers & community colleges. Students are advised to check the stringent eligibility relaxation & reservation rules before looking for admission in aided & government-affiliated colleges of the university. Maintaining position in the rank list is the only criteria to secure admission.

Note:
Students who have passed B.A English/Functional English or B.A/B.Sc. along with English as one of the common subject with 45% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.

Master of Arts [MA] (Anthropology) & Master of Arts [MA] (Bharatanatyam)
Students who have passed any degree with 45% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Note:
Relaxation of 2% & 3% will be given to those students who have studied Anthropology at 10+2 & Bachelor level respectively.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Mathematics)
Students with B.Sc. Mathematics with not less than 50% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Statistics)
Students with B.Sc. Statistics with not less than 50% marks in aggregate or B.Sc. Mathematics along with Statistics with minimum 55% marks are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Physics)
Students with B.Sc Physics with not less than 50% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Chemistry)
Students with B.Sc. Chemistry with not less than 50% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
M.Sc. Botany:
Students with B.Sc. Botany/Life Science/Plant Science with not less than 50% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Zoology)
Students with B.Sc. Zoology/Life Science with not less than 50% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Microbiology)
Students with Bachelor’s Degree in any of the subjects namely, Biotechnology/ Chemistry/ Bio Chemistry/ Zoology/ Botany/ Plant Science/ Life Science/ Microbiology or any other subjects with microbiology/ biotechnology as one of the subjects of study at Under Graduate level with not less than 50% marks are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science)
Duration: 3 years
Students want admission should have passed Under Graduate degree in Chemistry or any other discipline of Chemistry with any of the biological Science discipline as one of the subjects of study at Degree/ 10+2 level or Biotechnology or any of the Biological Science discipline like Biochemistry, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Zoology, Botany with Chemistry/Biochemistry as one of the subjects of study at degree level with not less than 60% marks.
Note: Aggregate calculation will not comprise marks of language subject/open subject or common subject.
Duration: 2 years
Students looking for admission must have passed B.Sc. degree (period of 4 years) in biochemistry/Medical Microbiology respectively.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Medical Laboratory Technology)
Students looking for admission must have passed B.Sc. MLT(4 years) or B.Sc. MLT(3 years) with 10 years of experience in the relevant field are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Molecular Biology)
Aspirants with B.Sc. degree in any discipline of Life Sciences (Zoology, Botany, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Genetics, and Laboratory Technology), Chemical, Medical, Veterinary and Agricultural Sciences from any recognised University, with not less than 50% marks are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Wood Science & Technology)
Students with B.Sc. in Chemistry/ Chemical Sciences/ Physics/ Botany/ Plant Science/ Forestry/ Micro Biology/ Biotechnology/ Mathematics with minimum 50% marks in the related subjects are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Geography)
Students with B.Sc. or B.A degree with minimum 50% marks in main and subsidiaries parts together. Blind/Deaf aspirants are not applicable for admission to this course.
Note: Benefit of 10% marks will be given to those students who have studied Arabic & Islamic History (Double Main) with 50% marks in aggregate.
Master of Arts [MA] (Kannada)
Students who have passed B.A Kannada as the core subject with 45% marks or B.A/B.Sc. along with Kannada as one of the common subject with 50% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Note:
Students who have passed LRP programmes like BBM/BBA/B.Com & B.Sc. are not applicable to take admission in this programme.
Master of Arts [MA] (History and Heritage Management)
Students who have passed B.A History as the core subject with 45% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Arts [MA] (Philosophy)
Students who have passed B.A Philosophy or any degree with Psychology as one of the subjects with 45% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Arts [MA] (Politics)
Students who have passed B.A Politics as core subject or any degree with 45% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Arts [MA] (Music)
Students who have passed B.A Music or any degree with good aptitude & training towards Carnatic music with 50% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Arts [MA] (Rural & Tribal Sociology)
Note:
Relaxation of 10% & 5 % will be given to those who have studied Sociology & Anthropology respectively.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Electronics)
Students with B.Sc. Electronics/Computer Science or Physics with not less than 50% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Social Work [MSW]
Students who have passed any degree with 45% marks (50% marks for science subjects) for non-science subjects in are applicable to apply.
Note:
Weightage of 10% marks will be given to those students who have obtained the degree in BSW with 45% marks in aggregate.
M.Com
Students with Under Graduate degree in B.Com/BBA/BBS or BBM with not less than 45% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Counseling Psychology)
Students want for admission must have passed B.Sc. Psychology (3 years) from any university with minimum 50% marks in optional main or core course. A student having a degree in any subject is also applicable for admission with 50% marks in aggregate.
Eligibility Relaxation Criteria:
Students with B.Sc. Geology with not less than 50% marks in aggregate are applicable to apply.
Note: Students belonging to SC/ST category have to pay INR 100/- as part of application fee.
Online filled application with desired documents should access the Heads of Departments/Course Directors of related departments on or before May 31, 2016. You required filling that with suitable attitude with accurate information.
Admission will be granted on the basis of entrance test organized by the Kannur University. Final admission will be given on the basis of rank in the entrance exam. Merit list will be prepared to keep in mind, the factors like reservation norms & eligibility relaxations.
Students should check the reservation norms laid down by Kannur University before filling the application form. Certificate allocated by the Village Officer only will be considered as the Certificate of Economic Backwardness.
