Kannur University, Kannur is one of the largest universities in Kerala. It is well spread in three districts namely, Kannur, Kasaragod, and Wayanad and has 7 campuses in total. The university provides different courses in the fields of arts, commerce, science, and management.

Its provides Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) to aspirants with a graduate degree. There are 50 seats in total that are available for admission each year. Admission notification comes out in the month of May, every year. It is a 2 year (4-Semester) course organized at the School of Pedagogical Sciences of Kannur University.

  • There is no upper age limit for admission to B.Ed. Courses.
  • A graduate in any branch with an at least of 50% marks in aggregate

Kannur University B.Ed. Admissions 2018 Application Process

The application form for B.Ed. program is currently on Kannur University’s official website. Here are the steps to download the form:

  1. Go to official website of the university.
  2. On the right side, in the ‘Latest News’ section, wait and click on ‘B.Ed. Application form’.
  3. The application form will open in a new tab in a pdf pattern, save it.
  4. Take a print out of the saved application form and fill it cautiously. (Fill the clear form, otherwise, your form might be rejected) 

Completely filled application form along with all the necessary documents and an application fee (In the form of a DD made in favor of Finance Officer,  Kannur University and payable at SBT, Kannur University Campus Discipline required to be sent to the following address:

Important documents to be attached with the application form:

  • Nativity, Income and Community Certificate for those who claim weight or reservation benefit
  • Qualifying Degree/ Post Graduate certificate and of higher qualifications, if any.
  • Secondary School Leaving Certificate
  • Mark Lists of qualifying Degree Examination/ Grade Card(All Semester/year with cumulative Grade card)
  • Experience Certificate in Form IV of KER for claiming admission under Teacher's quota and for giving weight for teaching experience. These certificates should be signed by the Head of School and countersigned by AEO/DEO
  • Certificates proving BPL among forwarding Community
  • Transfer Certificate and Conduct Certificate.
  • Any other certificates from the competent authorities for the claim of admission under any specific quota that is Sports/NCC/Differently Abled Persons / Linguistic Minority/Defence personnel etc. if eligible. The original Challan/Demand Draft/Pay-in-slip for Rs. 500/-(Rs. 150/-for SC/ST)
  • Equivalence / Eligibility certificates from the university in the case of double or triple main aspirants and degree holders of universities outside Kerala.

Kannur University B.Ed. Admissions 2018 Selection Procedure

B.Ed

Aspirants will be selected on the basis of their marks/grades in the qualifying degree examination. Shortlisted aspirants will be invited for the interview, prior to which admission to the selected aspirants shall be secured.

Special preference will be given to the aspirants with master’s degree. Extra marks will be given to the aspirants on the basis of their marks/grades secured in their post-graduate degree examinations.

Kannur University B.Ed. Admissions 2018 Reservation Criteria

  • The aspirants belonging to SEBC will be given a relaxation of 5% and the aspirants belonging to OEC will be given a relaxation of 5% from the prescribed at least marks.
  • Aspirants should be physically fit and mentally sound. Deaf/Dumb aspirants are not applicable. However blind aspirants will be applicable for admission to courses other than Science optional.
  • Aspirants belonging to SC/ST and natives of Lakshadweep, Aided or Government Teachers with 3 years regular service required to secure a pass in the Degree Examination.
  • Blind aspirants who have more than -3- 40% disability will be given relaxation of 5% from the prescribed at least marks.
