The University invites aspirants for their different programs provideed at the postgraduate level. Postgraduate courses require aspirants to hold a Bachelor’s Degree as a prerequisite, along with course-wise eligibilities. The admission is based on entrance test organizeed by JMI for each course. The test is also followed by an interview in some of the courses.
The last date for the submission of application forms is 21st April. Application forms are available on the University's website. About 50% of the seats are reserved for Muslim categories. The University may or may not fill all of them. Another 5% is booked for internal students. They are to be filled and submitted online only. The seats indicated for each course are the maximum seats.

The aspirants want admission must have a B.A. /B.Sc. or B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Hons.) Degree with minimum 45% marks aggregate OR 50% marks in the subject related.
Master of Arts [MA] (Development Communication) , Master of Arts [MA] (English) & Master of Arts [MA] (Hindi)
The aspirants want admission must have a B.A. /B.Sc. or B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Hons.) Degree with minimum 50% marks aggregate OR 50% marks in the subject related.
Master of Arts [MA] (Economics) & Master of Arts [MA] (Political Science)
The aspirants want admission must have a B.A. /B.A. (Hons.) Degree in the subject related with minimum 50% marks aggregate, OR he/she should have any B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. or B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. (Hons.) Degree with minimum 55% marks aggregate.
Master of Arts [MA] (Human Rights and Duties Education)
The aspirant want admission must have a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks aggregate. Preference will be given to those aspirant who hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Rights and Duties Education.
Master of Arts [M.A.] (Convergent Journalism) , Master of Arts [MA] (Mass Communication) & Master of Arts [MA] (Politics)
The aspirant want admission must have a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks aggregate.
Master of Arts [MA] (Social Work)
The aspirant want admission must have one of the following qualifications:
The aspirants want admission must have a B.A. (Hons.) Degree in Psychology with minimum 50% aggregate marks, or a B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. or B.A. / B.Sc. / B.Com. (Hons.) or B.Sc. (Home Sc.) Degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks.
Master of Arts [MA] (Education)
The aspirant must have a Bachelor’s Degree (except B.Voc.) with minimum 50% aggregate marks, or B.Ed. / B.Ed. Nursery/ D.El.Ed. Degree with minimum 50% marks in the theory component.
Master of Arts [MA] (Visual Effects and Animation)
The aspirant want admission must have a Bachelor’s Degree from any recognised University with minimum 50% aggregate marks. The aspirant should also be proficient in Windows, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
Master of Arts [MA] (Geography) & Master of Arts [MA] (Mathematics)
The aspirant want admission must have a B.A./B.Sc. (Hons.) in the related subject with minimum 50% marks both aggregate and in the subject, or the aspirant must have a B.A./B.Sc. Degree with 50% marks both in aggregate and in the related subject.
Master of Computer Applications [M.C.A]
The aspirants want admission must have a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks aggregate along with Mathematics at 10+2 level.
Master of Business Administration [MBA]
M.B.A. is a 2 year course in which the University offers the following specializations:
Eligibility: The aspirant must have a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 50% marks aggregate
Experience: The aspirants want admission in M.B.A. (Executive) must also have minimum 3 years of experience in Govt. These comprise Public Limited/Private Limited Company/ P.S.U/M.N.C/ M.N.E/3 Wings of Armed forces. or Private sector at executive level.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Chemistry) & Master of Science [M.Sc] (Physics)
Eligibility: The aspirant want admission must have a B.Sc. Degree with minimum 50% marks aggregate and 55% marks in the subject related.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Mathematics with Computer Science)
The aspirant want admission must have a B.A. /B.Sc. Degree with Mathematics or B.A. /B.Sc. (Hons.) Degree in Mathematics with minimum 50% marks both aggregate and in Mathematics.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Bioinformatics)
The aspirant want admission must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Medical, or Pharmacy with minimum 50% marks, along with mathematics at 10th level.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biochemistry)
The aspirant want admission must have a B.Sc. /B.Sc. (Hons.) Degree in Biology or Chemistry (with Bio as a subject) with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biotechnology)
The aspirant want admission must have a B.Pharm./ B.Sc. / B.Sc. (Hons.) Degree in Biosciences/ Biotechnology/ Biotechnology (Vocational) / Bio-Chemistry/Microbiology /Genetics or in any area of Modern Biology with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Electronics)
The aspirant want admission must have a B.Sc. (Hons.) Electronics / Physics / Instrumentation or B. Sc. (Hons) in Instrumentation / B. Applied Sc. In Instrumentation / B.Sc. Instrumentation / B.Sc. (Electronics) / B.Sc. (pass) Degree with Physics, Mathematics as optional subjects with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Appl. Master of Science [M.Sc] (Geography) & Master of Science [M.Sc] (Mathematics)
The aspirant want admission must have a B.A./B.Sc. (Hons.) in the related subject with minimum 50% marks both aggregate and in the subject, or the aspirant must have a B.A./B.Sc. Degree with 50% marks both in aggregate and in the related subject.
Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biophysics)
The aspirant want admission must have a B.Sc. Degree in Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany, Biochemistry or Microbiology, Mathematics, or Computer Science with minimum 55% aggregate marks along with Mathematics at 12th level.
Master of Fine Arts [MFA] (Applied Arts) , Master of Fine Arts [MFA] (Painting) & Master of Fine Arts [MFA] (Sculpture)
The aspirant want admission must have a B.F.A. Degree in the same branch with minimum 60% aggregate marks
M.Com
The aspirants want admission must have a B.Com. / BBS / BBA / BIBF / B.Com. (Pass) or an equivalent Degree with minimum 55% aggregate marks, or a B.Com. / BBS / BBA / BIBF (Hons.) Degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Master of Education [M.Ed] (Special Education) & Master of Education [M.Ed]
M.Ed. is a 2 year course in which the University offers the following specializations:
Eligibility: The aspirant want admission must have a B.Ed. /B.A., B.Ed. /B.Sc., or B.Ed. /B.El.Ed. Or, the aspirant should have a D.El.Ed. Degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks. with an Undergraduate Degree with 50% marks in both.
Eligibility: The aspirant want admission must have:
B.A. or B.Sc. (except vocational courses and B.Com.) Degree along with B.Ed. (Special Education) with minimum 50% aggregate marks specializing in Visual Impairment or Learning Disabilities.OR
B.A. or B.Sc. (except vocational courses and B.Com.) Degree along with B.Ed. Degree with minimum 50% marks aggregate, along with a one year course in Special Educations specializing in Visual Impairment or Learning Disabilities.OR
B.A. or B.Sc. (except B.A./ B.Sc. Vocational or B.Com.) and 50% marks in Diploma for Secondary School teachers of Visually Handicapped or Learning Disability from Institution recognised by Rehabilitation Council of India.
LLM
The aspirant want admission must have LL.B. Degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Master of Physiotherapy [MPT] (Sports-Physiotherapy) , Master of Physiotherapy [MPT] (Orthopaedics) & Master of Physiotherapy [MPT] (Neurology)
M.P.T. is a 2 year course in which the University offers the following specializations:
Eligibility: The aspirants want admission must have a Bachelor’s in Physiotherapy (4 ½ year course) with minimum 50% aggregate marks.
Examination:
All aspirants who seek admission to any of the JMI's provideed courses have to appear for an Entrance Test that is organizeed by JMI. The decided syllabus along with the hall tickets of the registered students are made available on the University's website.
The tests for most of the Postgraduate courses are organizeed in the campus of Jamia Millia Islamia, Delhi. Although some of the courses have their entrance exam organizeed in multiple cities. The entrance test may or may not be followed by an interview. These courses are:
