Jamia Millia Islamia was founded in 1920 by Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, Shaikhul Hind Maulana Mahmud Hasan, Hakim Ajmal Khan, Shri A.M. Khwaja, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, Dr. Zakir Husain, etc. The campus shifted to Delhi in 1925. at Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh). The University got its 'deemed' status in 1962.

The admissions are based on entrance tests organizeed by JMI. The aspirants have to register with JMI as well as NEET for admissions in B.D.S. For B.D.S., the admission is based on the rank obtained by the aspirant in NEET. NEET is organizeed by CBSE and is held twice a year. The last date for the submission of application forms is April 21, 2017

Application forms are available on the University's website. About 50% of the seats are reserved for Muslim categories. They are to be filled and submitted online only. Another 5% is booked for internal students. The seats indicated for each course are the maximum seats. The University may or may not fill all of them.

Both B.P.T. have an internship duration after the completion of course. and B.D.S. The period of the internship is 1 year for B.D.S. and 6 months for B.P.T.

BDS

  1. The aspirant should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised Board.
  2. The aspirant must have English, Chemistry, Mathematics, and Biology as main subjects.
  3. The aspirant should have scored minimum 50% marks in Maths, Chemistry, and Biology.
  4. The aspirant should have scored minimum 50% in the NEET.
  5. The aspirant should be 17 years of age as on the 31st December of the applying year.

Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)

  1. The aspirant should have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised Board.
  2. The aspirant must have English, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology as main subjects.
  3. The aspirant should have scored minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology.


How To Apply for JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia) B.D.S. and B.P.T. Admissions 2018?

BDS & Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)

  1. Aspirants can get the application form from http://jmi.ac.in/onlineadmissionform.
  2. The aspirants have to fill the form online.
  3. The aspirant has to upload a scanned copy of their coloured passport sized photo (.jpeg pattern with size not between 5KB and 20KB) and their signature (Blue/Black ink on white paper with a size between 5KB and 10KB).
  4. After filling the form, the aspirants have to pay a registration fee of Rs.700/- either by Net Banking/Debit/Credit card or the fees can be paid in cash at any Indian Bank discipline by downloading the challan from the admission portal.
  5. The aspirants do not need to upload any certificate etc.
  6. The following details are compulsory to be willing with the aspirant before filling the form:
  • Scanned Photo
  • E-mail ID
  • Mobile Number
  • Scanned Signature
  • Credit/Debit Card (in case of online payment)

Note: When paying via debit/credit card, do not press back/refresh or close the window during the payment as it can cancel the payment.


Admission Procedure of JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia) B.D.S. and B.P.T. Admissions 2018

BDS & Bachelor of Physiotherapy(BPT)

  1. The selection is based on the rank/marks scored by the aspirant in an Entrance Test organizeed by JMI (for B.P.T.) and NEET (for B.D.S.)
  2. The entrance test may or may not be followed by an interview.
  3. The aspirants have to score minimum 40% marks to be applicable for selection.
  4. The allocation of seats will be according to JMI's Admission Process.
  5. A list of selected and waitlisted aspirants will be available on JMI's notice board as well as on their website.
  6. The selected aspirants will be given a date to appear for the admission formalities.
  7. The selected aspirants are to bring their hall tickets of the entrance test, along with originals and self-attested copies of the following documents:
  • 10+2 or equivalent exam's mark sheet
  • Proof of entitlement to any reserved category (if eligible)
  • Proof of address along with name and location of nearest police station
  • Character Certificate from the last attended institute
  • Age proof (High School/Senior Secondary School's mark sheet)
  • Proof of passing qualifying exam along with mark sheets.
  • In case of gap period, certificate from class –1 gazetted officer to certify no indulgence in criminal behaviour
  • Certificate of No Objection by present employer (for evening/part-time/Sponsored courses)
  • Certificate from M.B.B.S. doctor/Govt. Hospital certifying blood group

Note: Self-employed aspirants have to show authentic evidence of self-employment.

  1. Fees for the first year can be paid by cash, online, or demand draft.
