Jamia Millia Islamia was founded in 1920 by Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, Shaikhul Hind Maulana Mahmud Hasan, Hakim Ajmal Khan, Shri A.M. Khwaja, Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad Ansari, Dr. Zakir Husain, etc. The campus shifted to Delhi in 1925. The University got its 'deemed' status in 1962. at Aligarh (Uttar Pradesh). It is accredited 'A' by NAAC.

The admissions to B.Tech. and B.Arch. courses are based on the rank obtained in JEE (Main). The admissions to B.E. (Evening) courses is based on an entrance test taken by the University. Forms are available on the University's website.

The seats indicated for each course are the maximum seats. The University may or may not fill all of them.

Eligibility Criteria for JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia) B.Arch., B.Tech., and B.E. Admissions 2018

BE/B.Tech

Specialization:

  1. Civil Engineering
  2. Computer Engineering
  3. Electrical Engineering
  4. Electronics and Communication Engineering
  5. Mechanical Engineering

Eligibility:

  1. The aspirant must have been 17 years of age as on the 1st October on the year of admission.
  2. The aspirant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam from a recognised Board.
  3. The aspirant must have Physics, Chemistry, and Maths as main subjects.
  4. The aspirant must have scored minimum 55% in the three main subjects.OR
  5. The aspirant must have a 3 or 4-year Diploma in Engineering recognised by the AICTE or State Board with minimum 55% marks.

Eligibility For B.E:

  1. The aspirant must have a 3 or 4-year  Diploma in Engineering from a recognised Polytechnic or Technical Institute.
  2. The aspirant should have minimum 2 years of professional experience after the diploma.
  3. The aspirants who have their diploma from University Polytechnic, JMI who have scored more than 70% are also applicable even without experience.

B.Arch

  1. The aspirant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognised Board.
  2. The aspirant must have English, Maths, Physics, and Chemistry as main subjects.
  3. The aspirant must have scored minimum 50% aggregate in these subjects.OR
  4. He/she must have a 3-year Diploma recognised by the Center/State Govt. with minimum 50% marks.

Note: The aspirants will be subject to an Aptitude Test before admission.


How To Apply for JMI B.Arch., B.Tech., and B.E. Admissions 2018?

B.Arch & BE/B.Tech

  1. Aspirants can get the application form JEE examination from http://jeemain.nic.in/jeemainapp/root/loginpage.aspx and for B.Tech./B.Arch. from JMI's admission portal - http://jmi.ac.in/admissions .
  2. The aspirants have to fill the form online.
  3. The aspirant has to upload a scanned copy of their coloured passport sized photo (.jpeg pattern with size not exceeding 100KB) and their signature (Blue/Black ink on white paper).
  4. After filling the form, the aspirants have to pay a registration fee of Rs.500/- either by Net Banking/Debit/Credit card or the fees can be paid in cash at any SBI discipline by downloading the challan from the admission portal.
  5. The aspirants do not need to upload any certificate etc.
  6. The following details are compulsory to be willing with the aspirant before filling the form:
  • Credit/Debit Card (in case of online payment)
  • E-mail ID
  • Scanned Signature
  • Scanned Photo
  • Mobile Number

Note: When paying via debit/credit card, do not press back/refresh or close the window during the payment as it can cancel the payment.


Admission Procedure of JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia) B.Arch., B.Tech., and B.E. Admissions 2018

B.Arch & BE/B.Tech

  1. The selection for B.tech and B.Arch. courses are based on the rank/marks scored by the aspirant in JEE Mains 2016.
  2. The aspirants for B.E. (Evening courses) are selected on the basis of an entrance test by the University.
  3. The aspirants interested in applying for B.Tech. courses must appear in JEE (Main) 2016 Paper 1 examination.
  4. The aspirants interested in applying for B.Arch. courses must appear in JEE (Main) 2016 Paper 2 examination.
  5. Aspirants applying for both B.Tech. and B.Arch. courses must appear in both papers of JEE (Main) 2016.
  6. The allocation of seats will be according to JMI's Admission Process.
  7. The reservation of seats and merit will be solely based on the rank obtained in JEE (Main) 2016.
  8. The selected aspirants will be given a date to appear for the admission formalities.
  9. The selected aspirants are to bring self-attested copies of JMI's Acknowledgement Slip, Registration Slip, JEE (Main) Hall Ticket, and JEE (Main) Score Card along with the following documents:
  • Proof of entitlement to any reserved category (if eligible)
  • Character Certificate from the last attended institute
  • Proof of address along with name and location of the nearest police station
  • Certificate from M.B.B.S. doctor/Govt. Hospital certifying blood group
  • 10+2 or equivalent exam's mark sheet
  • Age proof (High School/Senior Secondary School's mark sheet)
  • In case of gap period, a certificate from class –1 gazetted officer to certify no indulgence in criminal behaviour

Fees for the first year can be paid by cash, online, or demand draft.

Examination of JMI (Jamia Millia Islamia) B.Arch., B.Tech., and B.E. Admissions 2018

Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common engineering entrance examination of objective format which is organizeed for admission in different engineering colleges and courses all over the country. It is regarded internationally as one of the most challenging engineering admission tests.

The test consists of Paper – 1 (for B.Tech.) and Paper – 2 (for B.Arch.)

Both papers are of 3 hours and consist of 30 MCQ's each with 4 marks for correct and –1 marks for an incorrect response.
