Jain University, formerly known as Sri Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain College, is a deemed university under the UGC Act, founded in Bangalore. It is ranked No. 5 among the Top Private Universities in India in the India Today Survey. The university provides over 185 programmes at the undergraduate, postgraduate and research levels spanning different elective courses and interdisciplinary certificate programmes. Jain University has founded 10 Centres of Excellence.

The University invites applications for admission to the M.Phil. (Master of Philosophy) programme in different specializations for the academic year 2018. It is for a period of one year comprising two semesters.

Jain University M.Phil Admissions 2018 Eligibility Criteria


  • You should have a Master’s Degree from a recognized university in relevant subject with at least 55% marks in aggregate for general category and 50% marks for SC/ST aspirants
  • You can also apply if you have CA / ACS / ICWA with basic degree
  • If you have eligible for Master’s Degree prior to 1990-91 with no less than 50% marks, you are qualified to register

Jain University M.Phil Admissions 2018 How to apply?

You can download the Application Form from the official website. If you seeking to apply for various combinations, you must apply in separate application forms.

You should fill in the Application form in your own handwriting with a Black or Blue Hi-Tec point type pen only. Paste your most recent (not more than 3 months old) color photograph in the space offered.

Application Fee: You should pay the Application fee of Rs. 1000 via a DD in the favor of Jain University, payable at Bangalore.

You should attach the following Enclosures along with the Application form, with your Application number written on the right corner of all photocopies:

  • Marks Sheets
  • And such other documents prescribed along with the receipt for having paid the prescribed fee.
  • Two copies of the synopsis of the proposed research along with your Application
  • If you are employed aspirants, you should offer a no objection/deputation certificate from the employer, for studying research
  • Your Caste/Category/Disability certificate (attested by a gazetted officer) alloted by the related authorities of the government of Karnataka
  • Degree Certificate

Jain University M.Phil Admissions 2018 Selection Procedure


For your selection, you will need to take up the M.Phil. Entrance examination comprising an Aptitude Test and a Subject Paper. If you qualify the Entrance Examination, you will have to sit for an Interview.

As part of the admission process, you will have to attend the personal interview along you’re your parents.

Reservation Criteria

Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC other categories is as per Government of India guidelines.
