The Indian Institute of Packaging (IIP), an autonomous body, is a National Institute set up in the year 1966 under the administrative control of the Ministry of Commerce, Government of India, with the active support of the Indian industries.

The Indian Institute of Packaging offers a Two Year Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging (PGDP), Diploma in Packaging (Through Correspondence – 18 Months) and Intensive Training Course (ITC – 3 Months), Two Year Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging (PGDP) has become popular in industries since 1987.

Admission for Two Year Full Time Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging (PGDP), candidates are required to appear for the PDGP Common Entrance Test (PGDPCET) conducted by IIP which will be held on 15th June, 2017 and Personal Interview in the third week of July 2017 based on their performance in PGDPCET-2017.

Eligibility Criteria:

The two-year programme leads to a Post Graduate Diploma in Packaging.

Eligibility:

A candidate seeking admission for the Post Graduate Programme should have passed the full time (not by correspondence or part time) Graduate degree examination in Science (12th + 3 years degree entire 5 years in science only) with Physics / Chemistry / Mathematics Microbiology or Biochemistry as the main subject or one of them as the second subject in the three year degree or Agriculture / Food Science/ Polymer Science or Engineering / Technology degree of a AICTE/ recognised University with minimum second class. Those with equivalent overseas qualification would also be eligible for admission. The candidate needs to have consistently high academic performance and sound general knowledge. Candidates appearing in the final year of the qualifying examinations can also apply.

Age Limit:

A candidate seeking admission for the Post Graduate Programme should not be more than 25 years on 31/05/2017 (Age relaxation : 3 years for OBC & 5 years for SC/ST)

  • Enter your personal, educational, employment details along with any extra-curricular activities you have
  • Either use 'Save And Continue Later' or 'Submit Finally' option.
  • Upload documents using "Upload Documents" link. Compulsory documents are Photograph, Marks statement from X to Degree Certificate, Caste certificate for reserved applicants.
  • ONLINE Application Form cannot be edited further by using 'Continue and Submit' option. Hence, before clicking on 'Continue and Submit', you must check that all the information filled by you are correct.
  • ONLINE Application will be processed only if 'Confirm and Submit' option is clicked.
  • Do not keep the page idle for more than 30 minutes, otherwise the session will expire.

Admission/Selection Procedure:

The admission to PGDP Programme will be done according to the following two steps:

(i) Written examination

(ii) Personal Interview

A candidate seeking admission to the PGDP Course will be required to appear in the written Entrance Examination which will comprise of multiple choice questions. Candidates, who clear the written examination as above, will be called for Personal Interview which will be held at the Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi and Hyderabad centers of the Institute. The Institute has the discretion to fix minimum qualifying marks for Personal Interview which will make a candidate eligible for further consideration for admission. The final selection of candidates for admission to the course will be done in the order of their merit which will be based on the aggregate of marks calculated in each case according to the following weightage:

  1. Marks obtained in 10th Class/ Matriculation: 10%
  2. Marks obtained in 12th Class/Sr. Secondary: 10%
  3. Marks obtained in Graduation level: 30%
  4. Marks obtained in the Entrance Examination: 30%
  5. Marks obtained in Personal Interview: 20%
