ICFAI University Meghalaya Under Graduate and Post Graduate Admissions 2018

Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India University (ICFAI) is a not-for-profit educational society which includes of 11 universities and 9 business schools spread across India. Founded in 2006, ICFAI University, Meghalaya (IUM) provides different undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) courses in the field of management, information technology as well as hospitality and tourism management. 

Here is a list of all the programmes provided by ICFAI, Meghalaya:

Under Graduate Programmes

  • Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) – 3 years
  • Bachelor of Economics Honours (B.Econ.) – 3 years
  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) – 3 years
  • Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) – 3 years
  • Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism Management (BHTM) – 3 years

Post Graduate Programmes

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA) – 2 years
  • Master in Computer Applications (MCA) – 3 years
  • Master of Commerce (M.Com) – 2 years
  • Masters of Travel and Tourism Management (MTTM) – 2 years

Aspirants want admission to Under Graduate courses should have passed HSC (10+2) examination whereas, in case of Post Graduate admissions, the student must possess a graduate degree in any branch from a recognized university. Those awaiting their qualifying degree examination results are also qualified to apply for UG/Post Graduate programme offered they submit proof of their qualification to the university office within the stipulated time.

Selection of aspirants to the UG/Post Graduate programme is done via screening of their application, followed by an interview organized by the university. Those who wish to apply can submit their application online or download the form and submit it along with the necessary enclosures and procedures fee of Rs. 300/- via demand draft (DD).

Eligibility Criteria

The aspirant should have finished Higher Secondary Examination (HSC) examination in any branch with minimum 40% aggregate of marks. Those awaiting 10+2 examination results are also qualified to apply.

Final year students who have not received the original certificates from the Board will be admitted provisionally subject to confirmation of their passing the qualifying examination in accordance with the need eligibility criteria.


The aspirant should possess bachelor’s degree in any branch with at least 45% aggregate of marks. Those having finished their graduation on a onetime sitting basis or on a 2-year basis are not qualified for admission.

Final year degree students awaiting results are also qualified to apply for Post Graduate programmes.

Final year students awaiting degree results will be admitted provisionally subject to completion of their qualifying examination i.e. graduation including practical examinations/ viva assignments within the stipulated time. Such aspirants will need to produce the necessary mark sheets and a degree certificate confirming their eligibility on or before the last prescribed date.

Note: Students applying to Post Graduate programmes should have finished a minimum of 15 years of formal schooling.

Step to Apply


Aspirants want admission can register online via the official university website by filling up the application form and submitting the need procedures fee via online payment modes viz. Credit/Debit Card (Visa/Master Card/Citibank Card) or Internet banking option using secure internet payment gateway. Those applying via the website should attach their scanned color photograph along with the Online Application.

Participants can also download the application form and send it upon completion along with the supporting documents and procedures fee of Rs.300/- via demand draft (DD) drawn in favor of ‘The ICFAI University, Meghalaya - Fee Collection A/c’ to the following address:

  • Date of Birth Certificate/Class X Certificate
  • Domicile Certificate
  • Any other certificates pertaining to academic and other activities
  • Marksheet of Class XII/Degree certificate (as may be applicable)

Selection Procedure


Aspirants will be shortlisted for admission to Under Graduate and Post Graduate courses via screening of their application and performance in the interview, organized by the university.


  1. Evaluation of aspirants will be done by the admission committee with due weightage given to their scholastic achievements as well as performance in extra co-curricular activities such as sports/cultural events, debates etc.
  2. At the time of payment of the first-semester fee, the aspirant should produce original and domicile certificates for verification purposes. The original certificates will be returned to aspirants upon verification.

Reservation Criteria

In case of aspirants belonging to the State of Meghalaya, there shall be a special provision for admission constituting at least 25% of seats in each course/branch subject to the students meeting the minimum qualifying requirements. Vacant seats left under special reservation quota may be filled up by allotting the same to students belonging to Open Category.

International Admissions

In addition to Indian aspirants, the university also provides UG/ Post Graduate programmes to overseas students who fulfill the aforementioned eligibility criteria. In case of foreign aspirants, admission procedure fee should be remitted in the favor of “The ICFAI University, Meghalaya- Fee Collection A/c” and payable at Shillong.
