The Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), more commonly known as Pusa Institute, is situated in Delhi, India. The Institute was founded in 1905 and is administrated by the ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research).
The University Doctoral Degrees in 26 varied branches of Agricultural field. The application for the Doctoral Degrees begins February followed by an Entrance Examination in April.
The students should make sure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying for the admission. The students are selected on the basis of their academic records, and performance in Entrance Examination and Interview.
University also provides Scholarships to its students. Hostel accommodations are also offered to the IARI students. Research Work is compulsory for students studying Doctoral courses provideed by IARI.

A student in order to take admission in any of the Doctoral courses provideed by the University required to fulfil the following conditions:

A student wants admission under Open Scheme must meet the above eligibility criteria. For Post Harvest Technology of Horticultural Crops: Horticulture / Post-Harvest Technology / Food Science & Technology 2. The aspirant must also be ready to continue in service after obtaining the Degree. However, an in-service aspirant of Agricultural Universities wants admission under Faculty Up-gradation Scheme (FUS), in addition to the above requirements, required to be a regular employee of the University. / B.E. in Agricultural Engineering)Agricultural ExtensionAgricultural Extension / Extension Education / Dairy Extension / Fisheries Extension / Livestock Extension / Home Science Extension / Agril. in Bioinformatics / Molecular Biology or Biotechnology / Computer Science / Computer Application / Agricultural Sciences / Life Sciences and equivalent postgraduate degree in science.Computer ApplicationM.Sc. / MCA / M.Tech. However, they must prove their eligibility before appearing for the Interview.
The status "Sponsored for Admission Under FUS" should be completely mentioned on the student's application form and the forwarding letter.
Further, a student wants admission under ICAR in-service Nominee scheme, in addition to the requirements listed above, should be an ICAR employee. The status "Sponsored for Admission Under Reserved Seats for ICAR Employees" should be mentioned on the student's Application form and the forwarding letter.
Furthermore, a student wants admission under the Departmental Quota should be working in the IARI/ IASRI/ NBPGR/ MRCPB's Scientific or Technical Staff.
Students want admission to any of the Doctoral courses provideed by the Institute required to fill an application form available online only. Hall Tickets for the same could be downloaded as per the schedule.
The students can apply for admission in only one branch.

Once, the application is submitted successfully along with the fee payment, students are expected to appear in the Entrance Examination.
Students are selected on the basis of their performance in the Entrance Examination organizeed by ICAR, the Interview, and past academic records. School of IARI. Following is the marks distribution for the same.
The entrance test will include three papers. The admission depends on the availability of seats and the student's choice.
A list of selected students is published on the official website of IARI as well as the P.G. The ones who qualify the Entrance Examination are called for an Interview.
A merit list is prepared after judging the students in all the three areas. Paper, I will serve to questions from General Agriculture, while Paper II & III will have subject-specific questions.
The students required minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ ST/ PC students) in order to qualify the Entrance Examination. The selected students can then download their Selection letter from the website itself. Selected students will be allowed to join IARI, but only after the students are declared medically fit and submit the need documents as well as fees.
