Since its inception, the Institute has been providing its students with Postgraduate in 26 Agricultural disciplinees. Students seeking admission in any of the Postgraduate courses offered by the Institute need to appear in AIEEA - PG. The Examination is generally held in May and is conducted by ICAR (Indian Council of Agricultural Research). The exam is followed by a counseling procedure. s
Students need to fill an online Application form in order to appear in AIEEA. The application form for the same generally goes live in April. Students need to ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria before applying.
International Students can also apply for admission in various Postgraduate courses offered by the Institute. IARI also provides Hostel accommodations and other basic facilities to its students.

Students seeking admission in any of the Postgraduate courses offered by the University need to appear in AIEEA. Education), ICAR, Room 216, Krishi Anusandhan Bhavan - II, Pusa, New Delhi 110012. A copy of the same is generated and should be downloaded.
Candidates in their final year of the Undergraduate program are also allowed to appear for the exam provideed they meet the eligibility criteria by the date of counseling. The hard copy of the same is sent through Speed/ Registered Mail to the Office of Controller of Examinations (Agril. A student can take the said Examination in only one single major subject group.
The application form should be filled correctly along with successful fee payment. A student has to fill an online application form for the same. The application fee can be paid online as well as offline.
Candidates are selected for admission to IARI on the basis of performance in AIEEA-PG. In case of a wrong answer objective question, one mark will be deducted from the total score and 0.2 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer cross-matching question. While for every correct objective question, the candidate will be honoured 4 marks, for every correct cross-matching type question they will be honoured 5 marks.
Candidates who qualify AIEEA-PG have to go through a counselling procedure. Students should make sure that all the details are correct before leaving the Counseling venue.
The students who are not allotted a seat in the counseling procedure due to the unavailability of seats should submit a request for admission through Waitlist. AIEEA-PG is a national level entrance exam conducted by ICAR for admission to PG programs in Agriculture and Allied Sciences. Counselling in question is an online procedure and only qualified students are eligible to attend the counseling procedure.
Students need to carry the original and self-attested copies of the following documents for the counseling:
Students will have to fill a Counseling form at the time of counseling. The exam is conducted for 20 major subject groups. A Proforma for the same is provideed to the students at the time of counseling only.
The test paper has 150 multiple-choice questions and 10 cross-matching type questions. Students need to fill in their preferences in the form and has to submit the same at the Counseling desk.
Along with all the certificates, students will have to submit a provisional admission fee of INR 2000 once the seat is allotted to them and all the documents are verified.
A Provisional Admission Letter will be issued to the students stating their allotted Institute and Subject/ Course. In the case of any vacancies, such students are notified of the same and are considered for admission.

Note: 2% seats under each discipline are reserved for students of remote and Underprivileged States/ UTs, that is Andaman & Nicobar Island, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Arunachal Pradesh, Daman & Diu, Lakshadweep, Goa, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Mizoram, Tripura, and Sikkim. Students will have to provide a Domicile certificate under this Quota.
