Hidayatullah National Law University (HNLU) is an autonomous law university in New Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The university provides a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) integrated Programme, an L.L.M. Programme, and Ph.D. Course. It is one of the National Law Schools founded in India being sixth in the series of such national law schools. It was founded as a center for legal excellence by the Government of Chhattisgarh. The University is named after the former Chief Justice of India, Justice Mohammad Hidayatullah.

It is a residential university and is affiliated to and receives central assistance from the University Grants Commission and is recognized by the Bar Council of India. The students belonging to the state domicile Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Class, and PWD and minorities are offered with scholarships by the state government.

The University invites Applications for admission to the Bachelor of Arts Bachelor of Laws (BA LLB) Honours Programme for the present academic year. The programme is for a period of five years and provides 80 seats to be filled by aspirants from all India level and those of Chhattisgarh domicile.

Eligibility

Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}

You should have passed the Senior Secondary/Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent examination from a recognized Board with at least 45% marks in aggregate in case of general category and 40% in case of SC/ST category.

You shall be qualified even if you are appearing or have appeared in the 10+2 examination and are awaiting results. However, you must have passed the qualifying examination at the time of admission and must be able to submit proofs for the same.

Age: You should not be more than 20 years of age in case of general category and 22 years of age in case of SC/ST and Physically Disabled category, as on July 1st.

For Registration to CLAT

Step 1: You should register yourself on the CLAT official website.

Step 2: You must then fill your personal, academics and other details as mentioned in the form including the programme you are applying for.

Step 3: You should upload your Front facing Passport size clear photograph with clear lenses (30mm x 45 mm. This completes your registration procedure.

Both of them should be in JPost Graduate Pattern, with size not more than 100 kb.

Step 4: You need to upload the following documents in PDF pattern only:

  • Certificate of impairment for Specially Abled Persons (SAP) and Declaration by the Scribe in the prescribed pattern
  • Latest Category Certificate (SC/ST/OBC)
  • Birth certificate
  • Domicile Certificate (if applicable)

Step 5: CLAT Application fees: You must make the payment of application form fees of Rs. 4000 for General Category and Rs. 3500 for Reserved Category either online via Debit/ Credit Card or via offline ICICI Bank Challan.

Step 6: You should then finally โ€œSubmitโ€ your Application Form online only. You should also upload your signature.

Admission Procedure

Bachelor of Arts + Bachelor of Law [BALLB] {Hons.}

You will be selected on merit, based on the Common Law Entrance Test (CLAT) organized for Under-graduate courses at an all-India level. The Test will be consisting of objective type questions of a standard expected of 10+2 students and will be of 2 hoursโ€™ duration. The test will carry a maximum of 200 marks.

If more than one aspirant gets the same rank in the merit list, the order of priority for the selection of the aspirant against the available vacancies will be strictly based on the percentage of marks obtained in the qualifying examination.

  • Of the total seats, 3% of the seats shall be reserved horizontally for Persons with Disabilities (PWD) at the all India level.
  • Of the total seats, 3% of the seats shall be jointly reserved horizontally for Persons with Disabilities and Dependants of Freedom Fighters category of aspirants belonging to the State of Chhattisgarh only.
  • Overall, 30% of the seats shall be reserved horizontally for women aspirants both at all India and State (Chhattisgarh Domicile) level.
