Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS), also known as Hindustan University, Chennai which offers different undergraduate, post-graduate, diploma, and pioneering research studies via Ph.D., M.S. (by research) and M.Phil. programmes.
It has collaboration with the Department of Science & Technology, Aeronautical Research & Development Board, Indian Space Research Organisation, Ministry of Non-Conventional Energy Resources and Defence Research & Development Organisation, Naval Research Board, Department of Electronics, IGCAR, Atomic energy agencies and other organizations which support the institution either by giving funds for research projects or providing technical support for tackling the challenging research issues of national interest.
HITS invites applications for Ph.D., MS, and M. Phil. Programmes which must be downloaded from the college website and sent back to the university before the last date for submission.

Hindustan University provides MS programme in the following branches:
The aspirant must have the at least educational qualification mentioned below or any other equivalent qualification as approved by the Board of Management:
For Engineering / Technology: Aspirant must have a B. E. / B. Tech. or A. M. I. E. / A. M. Ae. S. I. or M. Sc. in relevant subjects.
For Management Science: Aspirant must have a Master's Degree in Commerce / Economics / Psychology / Statistics / Applied Mathematics or B.E. / B. Tech. in any engineering Branch.
Aspirants must have passed the qualifying examination mentioned above with first class. If no class was honored in the qualifying examination then you should have obtained an at least of 60 percent marks or a CGPA of 6.5 on a ten-point scale.
If aspirants have a teaching or industrial experience of more than six years, you may be admitted with a second class or an at least of 55 percent marks is permissible.
For S.C. / S.T. aspirants: Second class with a minimum of 55 percent marks is permissible.
At the time of admission, the aspirant must have passed postgraduate degree in the concerned discipline of study.
Nationality: Both Indian and foreign nationals are allowed.
For Foreign Nationals:
Note: Aspirants must have a working knowledge of English. No scholarship/fellowship for the NRI / Foreign Nationals.
For Ph.D. Programme:

For full time scholars with or without fellowship:
For Part Time Internal Scholars: Open to employees of HITS subject to rules and regulations of the University.
For Part Time External Scholars: Open to employees of private and public sector organizations or Institutions having R & D infrastructures and recognized by AICTE / UGC.
aspirants must have passed the qualifying examination mentioned above with first class. If the aspirant is not awarded a class, he/she must have scored either a minimum of 60% of marks, a CGPA of 6.5 on a ten scale, but these will not be Needed if the qualifying degree is MS (By research).
For M.A. (English) Degree holders, the at least marks need are 55%.
If aspirants have a teaching or industrial experience of more than six years, the first class in either bachelor's level or master's level is permissible.

If aspirants possess the educational qualifications as given above, they are called for an interview and/or test by the Dean Post Graduate Research Office. No TA will be paid for attending interview/tests. But if you are a foreign national, you may be considered without an interview or test.
Based on the academic records and performance in the interview/test, the selection committee will recommend to the Dean (Research), the names of the aspirants establish appropriate for admission to the programme. Admission provides will be allowed by the Admission Office.
The reservation policy of the institute will be as per the norms prescribed by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
