Goa University was founded on 1 June 1985 under Act of 1984. It is certified by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in India with a rating of four stars. Goa University provides graduate and post-graduate studies and research programmes

The aspirant can get admission to the undergraduate (UG) courses on the basis of merit obtained in the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET), organizeed by the state of Goa. NRI aspirants can also apply by submitting admission fee (one time) of Rs. 1000/- in the form of DD. Those want admission can register themselves for the Under Graduate courses by submitting an application fee of amount Rs. 1500/- via Demand draft (DD).

English

The aspirant must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognised Board of Higher Secondary School.

French

The aspirant must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognised Board of Higher Secondary School.

Hindi

The aspirant must pass in XII standard or equivalent colleges before 1985 which was affiliated with Mumbai University.

Konkani

The aspirant must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognised Board of Higher Secondary School.

Marathi

An aspirant must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognised Board of Higher Secondary School.

Economics

The aspirant must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognised Board of Higher Secondary School.

Political Science

Aspirant should have successfully completed the HSSC examination of the HSSC Board Goa or boards other than HS.S.C Examination Board Goa

Sociology

Aspirant must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognised Board of Higher Secondary School.

History

Aspirant must have qualified Higher Secondary level examinations or equivalent examinations.

Philosophy

Aspirant must have qualified Higher Secondary level examinations or equivalent examinations.

Geography

Psychology

Aspirant must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognised Board of Higher Secondary School.

Journalism

Aspirant must pass 10+2 from any recognised Board of Higher Secondary School.

Mass Communication & Videography

Aspirant who has passed the 12th standard examination in any stream from Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary education or equivalent.

Mass Media

Aspirants must have passed HSSC examination with proficiency in the English Language and communication skills.

Mathematics

Aspirant must have studied 10+2 with mathematics Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary education or equivalent.

B.A- B. Sc

International Hospitality Management

Aspirant must pass 10+2 with management as the mandatory subject.

Geography

Aspirant must pass 10+2 with geography as a mandatory subject.

Mathematics

Aspirant must pass 10+2 in science with mathematics as a mandatory subject.

Physics

Aspirant must pass B.Sc programme in physics at Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination organizeed by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Chemistry

Aspirant must pass B.Sc programme in chemistry at Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination organizeed by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Geology

Aspirant must pass XII science (Physics/Chemistry/Botany/Zoology) by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Electronics

Aspirant must pass in XII in science and in Technical Vocational Subjects also.

Home Science

Aspirant must pass B.Sc programme in home science at Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination organizeed by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Computer Science

Aspirant must have passed XII science with PCM combination and obtained minimum 40% aggregate marks in PCB at XII science.

Botany

Aspirant must have passed higher secondary with biology as background by Goa Board or its equivalent.

Zoology

Aspirants must have Elementary knowledge of Biology at Higher secondary 10+2 level with background knowledge of Chemistry.

Microbiology

Aspirants must have pass XII in science with physics, chemistry and biology as subjects.

Biotechnology

Aspirants must have pass HSSC examination by Goa or equivalent board.

B. Sc

Aspirant must be graduate in any faculty like Languages and Literature, Social sciences, Commerce, Natural Sciences, Life Sciences and Environment, Engineering, Medicine, etc with at least 40% aggregate marks at their graduation from any recognised university in India or abroad

Programmes under B. B

Lib. Sc - B. Ed (Integrated)

Aspirant must have passed the XII Arts Examination of Goa Board or an equivalent examination of any other recognised Board/Institution

BSW

Aspirants must have finished their Higher Secondary education.

B.

The aspirant must pass in XII standard or equivalent from any recognised Board of Higher Secondary School.

Programmes under BFA

  • The aspirant must be Indian National and Non-resident Indians must hold an Indian passport.
  • The aspirant must pass 10+2 examination with minimum 50% marks (45% in case of aspirant belonging to reserved category) at qualifying examination by the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education with English as the subject.

Bachelor of Performing Arts

  • Aspirant must pass in Music and Second Year B. Com

    Aspirant must pass XII standard of Goa Board Commerce regular or Vocational Course with any one of the Vocational subjects of Accounts, Office Management, Insurance, Industrial Management, Marketing & Salesmanship Management, Commercial Garment designing & making, Computer Techniques, Tourism & Travel Techniques or equivalent exam of any other Board

    Bachelor of Business Studies

    Aspirant must pass XII standard in any stream of the Goa Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education or any other equivalent examination recognised by Goa University

    Programmes under B. Ed

    Education

    • Aspirants should have taken minimum 3 papers in one of the school subjects at their graduation/post graduation for which training is provideed.
    • The aspirant must possess Graduate /PG Degree Examination of Goa University or an equivalent degree from any recognised university with at least of 50% of marks (5% relaxation is given to aspirants from SC/ ST/ OBC categories.

    Physical Education

    The aspirant must be Graduate in any subject with participation certificate in Games and Sports to get admission.

    Special Education

    The aspirant must have pass XII standard or equivalent examination.

    Programmes under B. Music of Goa University.

  • The aspirant must pass HSSC examination with music and also passed Sangeet Madhyama or Higher Examination or any other equivalent diploma of the recognised Music Institution or 3 years establish national training in Music.

  • The aspirant must be an Indian National.

  • Aspirants must have passed Bachelor of Science Degree with Mathematics as a subject at XII standard with at least of 45% marks (40%in cases of SC/ST/OBC)

The aspirant must have pass 10+2 in science with mathematics as the subject.

BCA

How to Apply for Goa University Undergraduate Admission 2018

  • Aspirant must send application form along with all the attested copies of the documents to the following address:
  • The incomplete application form shall not be accepted and if application form submitted after the scheduled date then late fee fine of Rs. 1000/- will be charged the application fee.
  • The aspirant can register themselves for courses by download, print and submit an application form by paying application fee of amount Rs. 1500/- payable by DD in favour of “Director of Technical Education” at Panaji – Goa, on any Scheduled Bank.
  • Aspirants want admission to the above-mentioned courses must have valid score in GCET-15 and have valid score in National Aptitude Test in Architecture (NATA).

Admission Procedure of Goa University Undergraduate Admission 2018

Selection of the aspirant will be based on their performance in Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET), a state level entrance test organizeed by Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Goa.


Reservation Procedure of Goa University Undergraduate Admission 2018

  • 2% seats are reserved for the SC category aspirants and 12% seats are reserved for the ST category aspirants.
  • 15 seats are reserved for the management quota and one seat in over & above intake shall be available to Kashmiri Migrants.
  • 27% seats are reserved for the OBC category aspirants.
