Goa University, North Goa MCA and M.Tech Admission 2018

Goa University was founded on June 1, 1985, under the Act of 1984. It is certified by NAAC (National Assessment and Accreditation Council) in India with a rating of four stars. Goa University provides different graduate, post-graduate as well as research programmes under the respective faculties.

The university provides the following Post Graduate courses in different branches to its students every year:

  • Master of Computer Applications (MCA)
  • Master of Science (M.Sc)
  • Master of Technology (M.Tech)

The aspirant can be selected for admission to the above-mentioned postgraduate (PG) courses via Goa Common Entrance Test 2017 (GCET-17). In case of entrance test, an additional fee of Rs. 300/- must also be submitted by the aspirant's Aspirants can register themselves for the PG courses by submitting finished applications along with the procedures fee amount of Rs. 400/- via demand draft (DD).

Eligibility Criteria for Goa University, North Goa MCA and M.Tech Admission 2018

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Chemistry)

  • Aspirants passing B.Pharm shall also be applicable to apply for M.Sc in Chemistry
  • The aspirant should have passed the examination of Bachelor degree of Science from any recognised University.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Physics)

  • An aspirant must possess the bachelor’s degree of science with Physics/ Computer Science/ Electronics of this University or from any other recognised University with minimum 55% aggregate of marks 

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Mathematics)

  • An aspirant must possess the bachelor’s degree in science with the mathematics of this University or from any other recognised University with minimum 55% aggregate of marks at the graduate level.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Electronics)

  • An aspirant must possess the bachelor’s degree of science with Physics/ Computer Science/ Electronics of this University or from any other recognised University with minimum 55% aggregate of marks at the graduate level

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Botany)

  • The aspirant must possess the bachelor’s degree in science with Botany from this University or from any other recognised University with minimum 55% aggregate of marks at the graduate level

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Marine Biotechnology)

  • An aspirant must possess bachelor’s degree in Natural / Biological and Clinical Sciences, Agricultural / Veterinary / Fishery Sciences / Pharmacy / Engineering / Technology or 4-years B.Sc. (Physician Assistant) or Medicine (MBBS) or B.D.S., with minimum 55% marks

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Microbiology)

  • The aspirant must possess the bachelor’s degree in science with Botany from this University or from any other recognised University with minimum 55% aggregate of marks at the graduate level

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Marine Science)

  • An aspirant must have passed the examination of the Degree of Bachelor of Science of this University or an examination of any other University recognised

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Zoology)

  • An aspirant must possess the bachelor’s degree in science with Zoology from this University or from any other recognised University with minimum 55% aggregate of marks at the graduate level

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Geology)

  • An aspirant must possess the bachelor’s degree of science with Geology from this University or from any other recognised University with minimum 55% aggregate of marks at the graduate level

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Pharmaceutical Chemistry)

  • An aspirant must have passed the examination of Bachelor degree of Science from the University or from any other recognised University.
  • Aspirants passing B.Pharm shall also be applicable to apply for M.Sc in Chemistry

Master of Science [M.Sc.] (Information Technology)

  • The aspirant must possess the bachelor’s degree in science with this University or from any other recognised University with minimum 55% in the aggregate of marks at the graduate level

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biotechnology)

  • The aspirant must possess bachelor’s degree in Natural / Biological and Clinical Sciences, Agricultural / Veterinary / Fishery Sciences / Pharmacy / Engineering / Technology or 4-years B.Sc. (Physician Assistant) or Medicine (MBBS) or B.D.S., with minimum 55% marks

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biochemistry)

  • An aspirant must pass the examination of the Degree of Bachelor of Science of this University or an examination of any other University recognised with at least 50% aggregate of marks

MCA

  • An aspirant must be graduate in any branch with minimum 55% aggregate of marks (50% for aspirants in reserved category - OBC, ST, SC, PH, FF)
  • An aspirant must have taken mathematics as one of the subjects at HSSCE (10+2) level or at a higher level

ME/M.Tech

  • An aspirant must possess B. / B. Tech degree in Computer Science / Information Technology / Electronics / Electronics and Telecommunication or equivalent with 55% aggregate of marks (50% for reserved categories)
  • An aspirant must possess MCA/MSc(IT) degree with 55% aggregate of marks (50% for reserved categories)

How to Apply for Goa University, North Goa MCA and M.Tech Admission 2018

M.Sc , MCA & ME/M.Tech

  • An aspirant must send finished applications along with all the attested copies of the documents to the following address:
  • Along with duly filled-in applications, the aspirant must also submit the need application fee via demand draft (DD) drawn in favour of “Director of Technical Education” and payable at Panaji, Goa.
  • Aspirants have to pay Rs.400/- to apply for any of the above mentioned Post Graduate programmes. In case of Entrance Test, wherever eligible, the aspirants must pay an additional amount of Rs.300/-
  • Aspirants can download the related application form available at the official university website and fill in all the relevant fields with the necessary details

In case an aspirant decides to apply for more than one Post Graduate programme, he/she has to pay additional Rs.100/- for each.

ME/M.Tech , M.Sc & MCA

Selection of the aspirants to the above mentioned Post Graduate programmes will be done on the basis of their performance in the GCET–2017, organizeed by the university.


Reservation Criteria of Goa University, North Goa MCA and M.Tech Admission 2018

  • 15 seats are reserved for the management quota and one seat in over & above intake shall be available to Kashmiri Migrants.
  • 2% seats are reserved for the SC category aspirants and 12% seats are reserved for the ST category aspirants.
  • 27% seats are reserved for the OBC category aspirants
