Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) was founded with an objective to promote studies in the area of technical education. University has been honoured ‘A’ grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

In the field of medical education, the University provides both MBBS and BDS courses. Previous the University organizeed a separate entrance test for admission to the MBBS and BDS programs. However, after the introduction of NEET exam, the University now takes admission to MBBS and BDS courses on the basis of marks scored in the NEET exam.

The eligibility for admission to MBBS and BDS course is the same as an eligibility requirement for NEET exam, i.e., 10+2 or HSC examination with Biology as one of the main subjects of study. To apply for counseling process, aspirants will have to fill an online application form available at the University website. 

The counseling process for admission to the 2018-19 academic session of MBBS and BDS courses will begin by the end of the month of August 2018.

Eligibility for GGSIPU MBBS and BDS Admissions 2018


Both MBBS and BDS are of 4 years duration. The aspirants must also have scored an at least of 50% marks in 10+2. The basic eligibility to apply for these courses is a 10+2 or equivalent degree in Science stream with Biology or Biotechnology as one of the main subjects from a recognised board of education. Non-Resident Indians are not applicable to apply for admission.

  • For SC/ST/OBC category aspirants must obtain relaxation in age of 5 years.
  • Student’s age should not be more than 17 years as on December 31, 2017.
Other eligibility requirements are explained below:

  • Aspirants should be Indian Citizen.
  • Aspirants who have a valid score in NEET only are applicable to apply for the course.
  • Aspirants whose compartment result is declared at the time of admission are also applicable to apply.
  • The aspirant must be medically fit.

The application for Counseling procedure at IP University is an online procedure. Fees should be paid online via Net Banking /Credit Card and Debit Card or by cash in any discipline of Indian Bank. The registration form for counseling procedure will be available online on the university website “”

There are an entrance test/counseling fees of INR 1000/-. The incomplete application form will be rejected and no request will be entertained afterwards.

The selection for admission to MBBS and BDS courses at GGSIPU is based on the marks scored by an aspirant in NEET examination. NEET or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test is a national-level exam organizeed by CBSE for admission to undergraduate medical and dental colleges.

While registration, an aspirant needs to offer their respective NEET exam details. If the aspirant fails to report the admission of the aspirant will be cancelled.

  • Aspirants are advised to bring all the necessary documents at the time of counseling which are as follows:
    1. Call letter of counseling (original and photocopy)
    2. Demand draft of admission fee (original and photocopy)
    3. Admit card or rank card
    4. Health strength document
    5. Original document of class 10th and 12th (2 photocopies)

    Based on the score and rank in NEET exam, participants are then called for a counseling session. If an aspirant is established to be medically unfit then their selection will be rejected.

    Counseling procedure:

    • Aspirants will be called for counseling according to the order of rank in the merit list
    • Students must bring the original certificates and one set of photocopy duly attested by Gazetted Officer or from Principal of School last attended or self-attested.
    • To ensure the aspirant’s eligibility the head of the institution again verifies the original documents and they shall be returned to the aspirant.
    • Aspirants who will be admitted during 1st counseling must report at the college within two working days of admission. Only those aspirants will be admitted who are certified to be medically fit. The University organizes rank-wise counseling, hence it is important for aspirants to get a good rank in NEET exam.

      Selected aspirants will go via medical examination by the medical board.

    Reservation for GGSIPU (Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University) MBBS and BDS Admissions 2018

    • Physically handicapped aspirants need to submit valid disability certificate from the Vocational Rehabilitation Centre
    • One seat for physically handicapped aspirants will be filled on the basis of merit from any region.
    • Category wise various seats will be reserved for the aspirants. There may be changes in the reservation of seats according to the Government of India.
