Gautam Buddha University (GBU) is a state-owned University situated in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh. It is a fully residential campus, with world-class infrastructure. The University provides UG, PG, and research courses in multiple branches.

The University provides both undergraduate and postgraduate engineering, architecture and planning courses via its School of Engineering, School of Biotechnology, and School of Information and Communication Technology. The application procedure for these programs begins in March. The application procedure is online and can be finished on University’s official website. These programs are also open to International aspirants.

The University organizes an entrance test, GPTU (General Proficiency Test for Undergraduates) for admission to all B.Tech. programs. The admission to B.Arch. is on the basis of marks scored in NATA. and M.Plan., university organizes GPT (General Proficiency Test for Post-graduates) and individual interview. For admission to M.Tech.

BE/B.Tech

For Indian Aspirants

  • Aspirant must pass separately in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics with at least 40% marks
  • Aspirant must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from this university or any other recognised university with at least 50% marks for General aspirants and 45% marks for aspirants belong to SC/ST category

B.Arch

  • The aspirant must pass separately in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with at least 40% marks along with NATA score securing at least 40% marks.
  • The aspirant must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics from this university or any other recognised university with at least 50% marks and 45% marks (for aspirants belong to SC/ST category).

ME/M.Tech

The aspirant must possess B.Tech. degree in Biotechnology or any other area of Biotechnology or M.Sc. in Life Science with at least 50% marks for general aspirants and 45% marks for SC/ST aspirants.

Food Processing and Technology

The aspirant must possess B.Tech. degree in computer science/ computer technology/ information technology/ electronics and communication or MCA with at least 50% marks and 45% marks (for aspirants who belong to SC/ST category aspirants)

Computer Science

The aspirant must possess BE/B.Tech degree in computer science/ computer technology/ information technology/ electronics and communication or  M.Sc. in Computer Science or MCA from this university or any other recognised university with at least 50% marks for General category aspirants and 45% marks for aspirants belong to SC/ST category aspirants.

Embedded System

The aspirant must possess BE/B.Tech degree in electronics science/ electronics and communication/ information technology or M.Sc. in Electronics from this university or any other recognised university with at least 50% marks and 45% marks for aspirants who belong to SC/ST category aspirants.

Biotechnology

The aspirant must have B.Tech. degree in food processing technology/ food engineering/ dairy engineering/ agriculture engineering/ biotechnology/ biochemical engineering with at least 50% marks for general aspirants and 45% marks for aspirants who belong to SC/ST category aspirants.

Software Engineering, Intelligent System and Robotics, Wireless Communication and Networks, VLSI Design

The aspirant must possess BE/B.Tech.

M.Planning

The aspirant must possess graduation degree in B.Plan. in Civil Engineering or MA in Sociology/Geography/Economics from this university or any other recognised university with at least 60% marks and 55% marks for aspirants who belong to SC/ST category

For Foreign Aspirants

  • Aspirants must have finished 12 years or 10+2 years of formal schooling at the school level followed by a Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Aspirant must obtain certificate of the International Students approved by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)
  • The aspirant must hold the valid passport from their respective countries.
  • Aspirant pursuing in the final year or having qualified Degree are also applicable to apply.

For Indian Aspirants

  • Aspirants can fill the application form for GPTU and GPT on the university website “www.gbu.ac.in”
  • A print-out of the filled in application form must be sent to the following address:
  • The application fee is Rs. 1200/- for General aspirants and Rs. 600/- for SC/ST category aspirants.
  • Application fee can be paid via credit card/ debit card/ net banking / Demand Draft.

For International Aspirants

  • Aspirants must send the signed printed copy of the filled online application form along with relevant documents at the following address:

  • International Aspirants can register themselves for the above mentioned courses by submitting the registration fee of amount $200.

GBU M.Tech, M.Plan, B.Tech & B.Arch Admission 2018 Admission Procedure

BE/B.Tech, ME/M.Tech & B.Arch

The university organizes GPTU or General Proficiency Test for Undergraduates for admission to B.Tech. program. The entrance test will have three sections – Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. Computer Science and each specialization in M.Tech. The specialization will be allotted at the time of counseling according to the merit in the entrance exam.
For admission to M.Tech. and M.Plan. courses, the university conducts GPT has three sections – Subject Awareness, English Proficiency, and General Knowledge. While Chemistry and Physics section will have 30% weight each, Mathematics will have 40% weight. Subject Awareness has the most weight, i.e. 70%. The rest two sections carry 15% weight each. Subject Awareness section will have questions from the specialization to which an aspirant has applied.
The entrance exam for M.Tech. Biotechnology will have four sections- Advanced Biology, Chemistry, English Proficiency, and General Awareness. Advanced Biology will have 50% weight, Chemistry will have 20% weight, and English Proficiency and General Awareness will have 15% weight each.
Admission to B.Arch. will be done on the basis of marks scored by an aspirant in NATA Exam.  Aspirants applying for B.Arch. at Gautam Buddha University will have to send a photocopy of their NATA score along with the application form to the University.

Notes:

    • There will be a common entrance test for M.Tech. Computer Science and each specialization in M.Tech. in Information and Communication Technology. The specialization will be allotted at the time of counseling according to the merit in the entrance exam.
    • There will be a common entrance test for M.Tech. in Power System, M.Tech in Instrumentation & Control, and M.Tech. in Power Electronics and Drive.
    • For M.Plan., the university will also conduct an Interview round after the written test. In final merit list preparation, 70% weight will be given to Written test and 30% weight will be given to Interview.

        Reservation Procedure

        Seats will be reserved for the SC/ST/OBC category aspirants as per the Uttar Pradesh Government rules and Gautam Buddha University rules.

        Sportsperson with relevant certificate of participation in National/International level sports events may be given 5% relaxation in the respective qualifying examination.
