The Dravidian University was founded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh via a Legislature Act in 1997 at Kuppam. University consists of 30 academic departments and 4 centres.

University provides various post graduate programmes in the following branches:

Postgraduate courses:

  • M.Com
  • MBA
  • MA 
  • M.L.I.Sc.
  • M.Sc. 
  • MCA
  • M.Ed.

The aspirant can get admission to the above-mentioned course after completing the entrance examination and in MBA & MCA on the basis of ICET.

The aspirant can register themselves for the above-mentioned courses after submitting the entrance examination fee of amount Rs. 300/- (for general/ BC category) and Rs. 200/- (for SC/ST/Differently Able aspirants) via DD.

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must any degree from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Arts [MA] (English)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess any degree with English under part I or part II from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Arts [MA] (Kannada)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess any degree with Kannada under part I or part II from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Arts [MA] (Telugu)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess any degree with Telugu under part I or part II from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Arts [MA] (Malayalam)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess BA degree or any degree with Malayalam under part I or part II from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Arts [MA] (Tamil)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess BA, Tamil or B.Litt or any degree with Tamil under part I or part II from this university or any other recognised university.

 

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Herbal Science)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess B.Sc. degree in chemistry and two subjects in life sciences from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biochemistry)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess B.Sc. degree with chemistry and two subjects in life sciences from this university or any other recognised university.

 

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Botany)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess B.Sc. degree with botany from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Organic Chemistry)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess B.Sc. degree with chemistry and one of the subjects from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess B.Sc. degree in computer science with mathematics combination from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Mathematics)

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess a degree with mathematics as main subject or degree with mathematics, economics and statistics from this university or any other recognised university.

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess B.Sc. degree in microbiology or B.Sc. chemistry with a combination of two life sciences subjects from this university or any other recognised university.

  • The aspirant must possess a degree with statistics as main subject or Degree with Mathematics, Economics, Statistics or accountancy, Economics, Statistics from this university or any other recognised university.

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess a degree in B.Sc. zoology as one of the subjects from this university or any other recognised university.

Master of Business Administration [MBA]

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must get admission as per the ICET norms.

Master of Commerce [M.Com]

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess a degree in B.Com or in BA commerce from this university or any other recognised university.

M.Ed

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess B.Ed. degree from this university or any other recognised university.

 

MCA

Eligibility:

  • Aspirant must possess 3 years bachelors’ degree in regular with mathematics as one of the subject and ICET ranks in 2013

 

Master of Library and Information Science [M.Lib.I.Sc]

Eligibility:

  • The aspirant must possess any degree from this university or any other recognised university.


Application Procedure for DU (Dravidian University) PG Admissions 2018

MA, M.Ed & M.Sc

  • The aspirant must have to submit an application form and all the enclosures at the following address:
  • Aspirant can also download the application form from the university website “http://www.dravidianuniversity.ac.in/”
  • For a downloaded application, enclose DD for Rs.300/- drawn on any Nationalized Bank (preferably Andhra Bank) payable at Kuppam in favour of the Registrar, Dravidian University, Kuppam.
  • If any student cancels his/her admissions after the commencement of classes, only 75% of Tuition Fee of that year will be refunded, even if the student discontinues in the first year or second year
  • Registration fee once paid will not be refunded or readjusted to any other programme. Full tuition fee will be refunded if any student cancels his/her admission before the closure of admission schedule
  • Aspirants can obtain application form and prospectus from the Office of Dean, Academic Affairs, Dravidian University, Kuppam – 517426
  • The aspirant can register themselves for the above-mentioned courses after submitting the entrance examination fee of amount Rs. 300/- (for general/ BC category) and Rs. 200/- (for SC/ST/Differently Able aspirants) via DD drawn in favour of the Registrar, Dravidian University, Kuppam payable at Andhra Bank, Dravidian University Discipline, Kuppam - 0001539.

Selection Procedure for DU (Dravidian University) PG Admissions 2018

MA, M.Ed & M.Sc

  • Selection of the aspirant to the above-mentioned courses will be based on the competence of entrance examination organizeed by the university.
  • Selection of the aspirant to the above mentioned MBA & MCA courses is on the basis of ICET.


Reservation Procedure for DU PG Admissions 2018

For SC/ ST/ BC category aspirants:

  • Seats will be reserved as per the relevant Government Orders of Government of Andhra Pradesh.
  • If aspirants belong to SC/ ST category are not available then the seats will be treated as unreserved seats and shall be filled by general category aspirants.
  • 15% seats will be reserved for the SC aspirants and 6% seats will be reserved for ST aspirants.
  • If aspirants belong to backward classes are not available then the seats will be treated as unreserved seats and shall be filled by general category aspirants.
  • 29% seats will be reserved for the aspirants belong to backward classes

Reservation for women:

  • One-third of the seats are reserved for women aspirants in each category (i.e. OC, SC, ST, BC, Special Categories and L/NL)

Reservation for special category aspirants:

  • 2% seats are reserved for the children of armed persons i.e. Ex-Servicemen, Defence Personnel including the Children of Border Security Force and the Central Reserve Police Force residing in Andhra Pradesh for an at least duration of 5 years
  • 1% seats are reserved for the National Cadet Corps aspirants, 1% seats are reserved for the NSS volunteer aspirants and 1% seats are reserved for the Sports and Games aspirants.
  • If aspirants belong to the NCC/NSS/DA/SP/CAP categories are not available then the seats will be filled by general category aspirants
  • 3% seats are reserved for the visually handicapped/hearing impaired / Orthopedically Handicapped aspirants.

Reservation of seats for the other southern states:

  • 10% seats are reserved in each course (other than professional courses like MCA/MBA/ B.Ed, TPT etc.) for each State (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala and Puducherry) for which admissions are made via the Dravidian University Common Entrance Test.


Important Notes of DU (Dravidian University) PG Admissions 2018

  • All the documents mentioned above should be submitted by the aspirant at the time of counseling.

Hostel:

  • Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls.
