Dravidian University Under Graduate Admissions 2018

The Dravidian University was founded by the Government of Andhra Pradesh via a Legislature Act in 1997 at Kuppam. University consists of 30 academic departments and 4 centers.

University provides different under graduate (UG); programmes in the following branchs:

Under graduate courses:

  • B.Com
  • B.Ed.
  • B.B.M
  • B.Sc.
  • B.A

The aspirant can get admission to the above-mentioned course on the basis of merit in the qualifying examination and in the B.Ed. course after clearing the entrance examination.

The aspirant can register themselves to the above-mentioned courses after submitting the entrance examination fee of amount Rs. 300/- (for general/ BC category) and Rs. 200/- (for SC/ST/Differently Able aspirants) via DD.

Eligibility Criteria
Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Botany), Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biotechnology) & Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Chemistry)

  • The aspirant must pass Biology, Physics, and Chemistry in the qualifying examination.
  • The aspirant must pass intermediate (PCB) from this university or any other recognized university.

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Mathematics), Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Statistics) & Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Computer Science)

  • The aspirant must pass intermediate with mathematics as one of the subjects from this university or any other recognized university

 

Bachelor of Business Management [BBM]

  • Preference will be given to aspirants who have studied Commerce subjects in the qualifying examination.
  • The aspirant must pass intermediate from this university or any other recognized university.

B.Com

  • The aspirant must pass intermediate from this university or any other recognized university.
  • Preference will be given to aspirants who have studied Commerce/Arts subjects in the qualifying examination.

B.Ed

  • The aspirant must clear the entrance examination organized by the university.

Bachelor of Arts [BA] (History) , Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Political Science) & Bachelor of Arts [BA] (Economics)

  • The aspirant must pass intermediate (PCB) from this university or any other recognized university.
  • Preference will be given to aspirants who have studied Arts subjects in the qualifying examination.

Application Procedure

Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Botany), Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Biotechnology) & Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Chemistry)

  • Aspirants can obtain application form and prospectus from the Office of Dean, Academic Affairs, Dravidian University, Kuppam – 517426
  • The aspirant can also download the application form from the university website â€œhttp://www.dravidianuniversity.ac.in/”
  • For a downloaded application, enclose DD for Rs.300/- drawn on any Nationalized Bank (preferably Andhra Bank) payable at Kuppam in favor of the Registrar, Dravidian University, Kuppam.
  • The aspirant can register themselves to the above-mentioned courses after submitting the entrance examination fee of amount Rs. 300/- (for general/ BC category) and Rs. 200/- (for SC/ST/Differently Able aspirants) via DD drawn in favor of the Registrar, Dravidian University, Kuppam payable at Andhra Bank, Dravidian University Discipline, Kuppam - 0001539.
  • Registration fee once paid will not be refunded or readjusted to any other programme. Full tuition fee will be refunded if any student cancels his/her admission before the closure of admission schedule any student cancels his/her admissions after the commencement of classes, only 75% of Tuition Fee of that year will be refunded, even if the student discontinues in the first year or second year

Enclosures:

  1. Transfer Certificate, Organize Certificate, S.S.C & Intermediate Pass Certificates, Degree Marks & Provisional Certificates.
  2. Original Caste Certificate (Permanent or Latest obtained from the M.R.O/Tahsildar).
  3. Income Certificate (obtained in 2015 from the M.R.O / Tahsildar).
  4. Relevant Certificate in case of Differently Abled.
  5. Relevant Certificate in case of NCC/NSS/Games & Sports.
  6. Discharge Certificate and Service Certificate of the parent in case of Children of Armed personnel.
  7. Migration Certificate (in case of other university students).
  8. 4 Pass-port size recent photographs.
  9. Two Self-addressed Post-Cards.
  10. Two 9 x 20 cms Self-addressed covers with Rs.5/- postal stamps affixed on them.

Selection Procedure

B.Ed , B.Sc & BBA/BBM

  • Selection of the aspirant to the B.Ed course will be based on the clearance of entrance examination organizeed by the university.
  • Selection of the aspirant to the above-mentioned courses will be based on the merit in the qualifying examination organized by the university.

Reservation Criteria

For SC/ ST/ BC category aspirants:

  • Seats will be reserved as per the relevant Government Orders of Government of Andhra Pradesh.
  • 15% seats will be reserved for the SC aspirants and 6% seats will be reserved for ST aspirants.
  • If aspirants belong to SC/ ST category are not available then the seats will be treated as unreserved seats and shall be filled by general category aspirants.
  • 29% seats will be reserved for the aspirants belong to backward classes
  • If aspirants belong to backward classes are not available then the seats will be treated as unreserved seats and shall be filled by general category aspirants.

Reservation for women:

  • One-third of the seats are reserved for women aspirants in each category (i.e. OC, SC, ST, BC, Special Categories and L/NL)

Reservation for special category aspirants:

  • If aspirants belong to the NCC/NSS/DA/SP/CAP categories are not available then the seats will be filled by general category aspirants
  • 2% seats are reserved for the children of armed persons i.e. Ex-Servicemen, Defence Personnel including the Children of Border Security Force and the Central Reciter Police Force residing in Andhra Pradesh for a minimum duration of 5 years
  • 1% seats are reserved for the National Cadet Corps aspirants, 1% seats are reserved for the NSS volunteer aspirants and 1% seats are reserved for the Sports and Games aspirants.
  • 3% seats are reserved for the visually handicapped/hearing impaired / Orthopedically Handicapped aspirants.

Reservation of seats for the other southern states:

  • 10% seats are reserved in each course (other than professional courses like MCA/MBA/ B.Ed, TPT etc.) for each State (Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Puducherry) for which admissions are made via the Dravidian University Common Entrance Test.

Note

  • All the documents mentioned above should be submitted by the aspirant at the time of counseling.

Hostel

  • Hostel facility is available for both boys and girls.
