Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences is a public university which was founded in 1986. For admission to BUMS, the university organizes a separate entrance test. The university provides graduate and postgraduate degrees, diploma and super-specialty courses in modern medicine, dental surgery etc. Aspirants can get admission to the BAMS and BHMS courses via AP EAMCET organized by the JNTU Kakinada on behalf of AP SCHE (Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education).

Courses Provided by NTR University of Health Sciences

An aspirant must have passed 10+2 or intermediate level examination with Biology group subjects in order to be qualified for admission to BAMS, BHMS as well as BUMS course. An aspirant can apply to BAMS and BHMS program provided by NTRUHS on the basis of marks scored in AP EAMCET. Aspirants want admission to BAMS and BHMS can register via the official examination portal.

NTRUHS commences the application procedure for BUMS by the end of August each year. For admission to the academic year 2018. The university will also organize a separate entrance test for admission to the BUMS course.

Eligibility Criteria

BAMS

  • The aspirant should have passed 2 years of intermediate examination with Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry as optional with 50% aggregate marks in group subjects. 
  • The aspirant must pass any other examination of 10+2 format recognized by the university or Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, with Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects. 
  • The aspirant must pass intermediate (10+2) with Bridge course with Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry from this university or any other recognized university.

BUMS

  • The aspirant must have passed 10+2 intermediate or equivalent examination with 50% aggregate marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, and Biology
  • The aspirant must complete the age of 17 years. The age will be calculated on the basis of date of birth mentioned on the SSC examination certificate.
  • The aspirant must also have passed 10th standard with Urdu or Arabic or Persian language as a subject or must clear the test of Urdu in the entrance examination organized by the University
  • The aspirant must have studied Pre-Tib examination of one-year duration and should also qualify entrance test organized by the university.
  • Aspirants should be Indian Nationality or Persons of Indian Origin (P.I.O) / Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) and should satisfy the local or non-local status in Andhra Pradesh

Bachelor of Naturopathy & Yoga Science

  • The aspirant must pass any other examination of 10+2 format recognized by the university or Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh, with Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry as optional subjects. or
  • The aspirant should have passed 2 years of intermediate examination with Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry as optional with 50% aggregate marks in group subjects. or
  • The aspirant must pass intermediate (10+2) with Bridge course with Botany, Zoology, Physics, and Chemistry from this university or any other recognized university.

BHMS

  • The aspirant should have studied courses like Physical, Chemistry, and Biology including a practical test in these subjects in 1st year of the degree and also passed 10+2 with English at a level not less than a core course.
  • The aspirant should have passed an intermediate examination in science with Physics, Chemistry and Biology which shall comprise a practical test in these subjects and also English as the mandatory subject
  • Aspirant should have passed higher secondary examination or the Indian School Certificate Examination which is equivalent to 10+2 Higher Secondary Examination after a duration of twelve year study the last two years of study comprising of Physical, Chemistry, Biology with Mathematics or any other elective subjects with English at a level than core of English as prescribed by the National Council of Educational Research and Training after the introduction of the 10+2+3 years educational structure as advised by the National Committee on Education.
  • The aspirant should have passed the pre-professional or pre-medical examination with Physical, Chemistry, and Biology, after passing either the higher secondary school examination or the pre-university or an equivalent Examination, which shall comprise a practical test in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and also English as the mandatory subject.

Age limit:

  • Aspirant’s age should be calculated on the basis of date of birth indicated in the secondary school certificate.
  • The aspirant should have finished 17 years of age.

Application Procedure

BUMS

  • The aspirant must send all the enclosures and print out of filled-in application form in person or by Registered post on or by 5:00 pm at the following address:
  • The aspirant can pay the application fee of INR. 850/- (for SC/ST category aspirants) online, via Visa/Master Credit/Debit card. 
  • The aspirant can obtain application form available on the University website.

Enclosures:

  1. SSC or any equivalent examination showing date of birth and other particulars of the aspirant.
  2. Memorandum of Marks of the qualifying examination making qualified for admission i.e. Intermediate or Equivalent Examination.

  4. Aspirants claiming eligibility about local/non-local should furnish relevant certificates in support of their claim.
  5. Aspirants who have studied in the state of Andhra Pradesh have to attach:
  • An aspirant who has not studied a class in any school/institution, a residence certificate for that duration only shall be submitted.
  • An aspirant who has studied in 2 or more institutions in different places in Andhra Pradesh, study / bonafide certificate from VI to Intermediate (Govt. 1050/- (for OC/BC) and INR. / ZPH / Private School or College) in those places shall be submitted.
  • Study / bonafide certificate from VI to Intermediate shall be submitted.
  • Aspirants who have not studied in any school / college in the state of A.P., but resided in Andhra Pradesh with private study in Andhra Pradesh seven years residence certificate mentioning the duration of residence preceding the qualifying examination (6th to Inter) by the aspirant claiming eligibility as a local by virtue of residence shall be submitted. ‘
  1. Aspirants who have studied in the institutions outside the state of Andhra Pradesh have to submit 10 years residence certificate of the either of the parents allowed by MRO to claim seats under the unreserved category.
  2. Certificate of social status in case of one who belongs to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribes or Backward Classes allocated by an Officer prescribed.
  3. Aspirant claiming eligibility of reservation under PH quota should furnish the need certificates in support their claim.
  4. Passport size photo of the aspirant attested by a Gazetted Officer.

Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences [BAMS] & Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine & Surgery [BHMS]

  • The aspirant must have to submit the application form via online method only by visiting the website designed for AP EAMCET.
  • The aspirant must have to take the printout of filled in application form after affixing a recent color passport size photograph duly attested by the Gazetted Officer or Principal of the College
  • Aspirants can register themselves to the above-mentioned courses by submitting the registration fee of INR.350/- by using any of the payment modes which are: AP ONLINE / E-Seva / MEE Seva.
  • The aspirant must have to fill the application form and after filling the online application form aspirant must have to verify all the details and press submit button.
  • The aspirant must have to keep all the documents willing at the time of online submission of application form:
  1. Hall ticket Number of Qualifying Examination
  2. Hall ticket Number of S.S.C. or equivalent
  3. Date of Birth certificate
  4. Caste in case of SC/ST/BC aspirants
  5. Aadhar card Number
  6. PH, NCC, Sports etc.
  7. Income Up to One Lakh or Up to Two Lakhs or More than Two Lakhs (Rupees)
  8. Study or Residence or relevant certificate for proof of local status (last 12 years)

Admission Procedure

BAMS & BHMS

  • Selection of the aspirant will be made only from among the aspirants who physically current themselves when called in order of merit.
  • Selection of the aspirant to the above-mentioned courses is done on the basis of marks scored in AP EAMCET common entrance test organized by JNTUK.

Counseling procedure:

Counseling of aspirant will be done in three phases which are as follows:

  • In the third phase, selection and allocation of remaining seats reserved for the reserved category aspirants
  • Aspirants must have to submit the counseling fee of the amount of Rs. 1500/- (for OC/BC) and Rs. 800/- (for SC/ST) category aspirants to attend the counseling and counseling fee is non-refundable.
  • In the second phase, the reserved category aspirants selected under OC category
  • In the first phase, OC (other categories) seats will be filled

Children of ex-servicemen are directed to bring the following original certificates at the time of counseling.

  1. Original discharge certificate of his/her parent.
  2. Original Identity Card of his/her parent allowed by Zilla Sainik Welfare Officer of related District.
  3. Original Pension book of his/her parent if pensioner.
  4. Residential Certificates of the parent of the aspirant allowed by Mandal Revenue Officer.
  5. Certificates of Gallantry Award, Gazette Notification, copies of Part-II order and relevant documents if claims under Priority-I, Priority-II, and Priority-III

Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery [BUMS] (Unani) (Kamil-E-Tibb-O-Jarahat)

The selection for admission to BUMS course is based on the performance in an Entrance Test organized by the University. The entrance exam will be organized at Osmania Medical College, Koti, Hyderabad. Aspirants can download their hall ticket from the University website.

The entrance test will be of objective type and will include 150 questions. The period of the exam is 3 hours. The test will have three sections:

  • Chemistry (50 questions)
  • Physics (50 questions)
  • Biology (50 questions)

For selection to the BUMS course, an aspirant will have to obtain a minimum of 26% marks in the entrance examination. For SC/ST aspirants there is no minimum qualifying percentage in the entrance examination. The merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks scored in the entrance examination. In case of two aspirants scoring equal marks in the entrance test, preference will be given to those older in age.

The university will organize a separate counseling procedure based on the merit list prepared.

Admission Reservation

Reservation for SC/ST category aspirants:

  • If the seats reserved for ST category aspirants are not filled then those seats will be filled by SC category candidates and vice versa.
  • Aspirants of SC/ST category belongs to the State of Telangana only shall be considered
  • If the SC/ST category aspirants are not available to fill the seats then those seats will be filled by open category aspirants.
  • 15% seats are reserved for the aspirants belong to SC category and 6% seats are reserved for the aspirants for ST category
