Delhi Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research (DIPSAR) is a premier Institute with a vision and mission of training students in pharmaceutical sciences and equip them to work in the pharmaceutical industry, hospital, retail pharmacy. It was established in 1964 as Department of Pharmacy of the Delhi College of Engineering and was situated in Kashmiri Gate, Delhi. The institute has celebrated its Golden Jubilee in 2014. It has also added additional courses like physiotherapy beside B.Pharm., M.Pharm. At present, it has a strength of about 500 students. & Ph.D. In 1972, it was converted into the College of Pharmacy, and in 1979, moved to its current campus in Pushp Vihar.

The University invites aspirants for their different research programs provided in Ph.D. courses. The research programs require the aspirants to hold a Master’s Degree as the basic requirement.

The admission is based on a screening test which is followed by an interview. A preference will be given to aspirants who have had at least one research publication with a journal of repute; or those aspirants who have been honored fellowship from any recognized funding agency like UGC, CSIR, HRD, ICMR, DS&T, AICTE, AYUSH, DRDO, DBT Ministry of Health, or a private agency etc. The screening test and interview will be organized in DIPSAR campus. The admission is granted on the aspirant’s performance in the screening test and interview, along with his/her academic credentials.

The last date for the submission of application forms is July 23 (tentative) for Ph.D. courses. There are no application forms available for admission. The University may or may not fill all of them. The final details will be announced in accordance with the University of Delhi. The aspirants have to submit their application on a plain paper and submit it to DIPSAR office in Phushp Vihar by the person or by post. The seats indicated for each course are the maximum seats.

Eligibility

The aspirants who seek admission must have a First ClassMaster’s Degree in any field of pharmaceutical or biomedical sciences recognized by UGC/AICTE like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, Organic Chemistry, Pharmacology, Microbiology, etc.

Preference will be given to aspirants who have had at least one research publication with a journal of repute; or those aspirants who have been honored fellowship from any recognized funding agency like UGC, CSIR, HRD, ICMR, DS&T, AICTE, AYUSH, DRDO, DBT Ministry of Health, or a private agency etc.

The Ph.D. aspirants may also be used as a teacher for undergraduate students.

Application Procedure

  1. There will be no application forms for Ph.D. aspirants.
  2. The aspirants can obtain the prospectus from DIPSAR office by paying Rs. 1,000/-.
  3. The aspirants have to submit their application on plain paper along with their bio-data (with attested photograph).
  4. The aspirants also have to attach a brief summary (200 words) about their research interest, experience, etc. along with Xerox of testimonials.
  5. The above must be accompanied with a Demand Draft of Rs.500/- (application fee) in favor of “The Director, DIPSAR” payable at Delhi.
  6. The above required to be delivered by the person or by post to:

Selection Procedure

  1. The selection is based on a screening test, followed by an interview.
  2. The aspirants who seek admission must appear in a screening test organized in DIPSAR campus.
  3. Based on the performance of the screening test along with the aspirant’s credentials in academics, a list of shortlisted aspirants for the interview will be made.
  4. After the interview, the selected aspirants can complete their final admission formalities.

Course Details

Course Name: Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)

Annual Fee: Rs. 2,000/-

Seats: At present, there are 13 seats for Ph.D. courses available in DIPSAR. Besides these, there are 3 seats reserved for AICTE sponsored aspirants.

The Govt. of Delhi has introduced 10 seats who get a stipend of Rs. 9,100/- per month.

Ph.D. is provided in different branches of Pharmacy under Delhi University.

Hostel Facility

The institute has a total of six well-furnished hostel accommodations, two for boys and two for girls. Presently the hostel is available only for outside Delhi students. In the future, the institute plans to accommodate nearly 50% of the total aspirants in the hostel.
