DBATU [Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University] is located in the Raigad district of Maharashtra. It is situated in Lonere at the foot of Raigad fort which is historically popular for being the seat of Emperor Shivaji.

The University boasts of being one of a kind in the state and runs numerous programs for the benefit of downtrodden sections of society. The University runs diploma programs for college dropouts under “Community Polytechnic” scheme. It also has reached to rural women and provides them Certificate course in Nursing Technology.

The University provides graduate, post-graduate, research, and diploma programs in engineering and technology. programs, 9 Research programs respectively for full-time and part-time aspirants, and 7 Diploma programs on providing. programs, 7 M.Tech. There are 8 B.Tech.

The University has provision for both full-time and part-time Ph.D. research aspirants and apart from 5 programs in engineering, it also provides Ph.D. courses in Science and Humanities. Ideally, the full-time Ph.D. program is of 3 years duration. In total there are 42 seats for Ph.D. aspirants in different departments at the university including both full time and part time programs.

Eligibility Criteria


The Aspirant should have passed with at least 50 % in Bachelor degree or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering/Technology from State Governments/MHRD recognized institutions or university as the Postgraduate Programme will be as per the specialization in the Bachelor Degree. The aspirants of Maharashtra State belonging to Backward class categories and Persons with Disability shout score at least 45% marks in the above-mentioned subjects

For Maharashtra State Aspirant and OMS aspirants:-

The aspirant must have a valid GATE score in respective qualifying discipline.

For Children of NRI / OCI / PIO, Children of Indian workers in the Gulf countries, Foreign National:-

The aspirant should have passed with at least 50 % in Bachelor degree or equivalent in the relevant field of Engineering/Technology from State Governments/MHRD recognized institutions or university, as the Postgraduate Programme will be as per the specialization in the Bachelor Degree.

Step to Apply


The following are steps the aspirants must follow to apply for M.Tech. The application forms will be available online at the DTE Maharashtra Official Website, the aspirants will have to make an e-payment of the application procedures fees through net banking. All the aspirants must get their documents verified and Application confirmed in person at any one of the Application Form Receipt Centers.
  • The aspirants should submit attested copies of documents along with the all Original documents for verification at the allotted at the Application Form Receipt Center and the produce Receipt of Payment of fees made through net banking. The programme can apply online. The fee is Non- Refunded and Non- Transferable.
  • Aspirants who fail to pay the need fees as per the schedule will have pay late fees of Rs.1000.
    • The aspirants must have the Application form printed consisting of the need documents for verification. The programme provided by the university via Centralized Admission: -

      • The aspirants who are applying as Aspirants of Maharashtra state fail to produce the need documents; they will be treated as OMS aspirants.
      • The OMS aspirants Positive GATE score can apply via CAP against the GATE-Non-Sponsored seats by filling and submitting the application form online. The payment is to be made through Net Banking. The aspirants will have to get their application confirmed and get the need documents for verification in person at any Application Form Receipt Center.
      • The aspirants ready to take admission in M.Tech. The aspirants applying for Backward Class Category must produce a valid caste certificate failing to do so the candidature will be treated as General Category aspirant and the aspirant will have to pay the difference in the fees in cash prior submission of the documents at the Application Form Receipt Center.
      The aspirants will have to pay online application procedures fees using net banking facility available to submit the forms.
    • There will be a soft copy of the Receipt of Payment of fees which the aspirants need to print and produce it at the time of confirmation of submission of CAP application form.
    • Application Form Procedure Fees
    1. The application form procedure fees are Rs. 700/- for General Category of Maharashtra State Aspirants and Outside Maharashtra State (OMS) Aspirants,  Rs. 500/-for Aspirants belonging to for reserved category aspirants and Persons with Disability Aspirants belonging to Maharashtra State.

    Admission Procedure


    The aspirants falling under the eligibility criteria will be selected by the university on the following basis:-

    • The merit will be evaluated on the basis of their valid GATE Score.
    • These are the two merit lists: -
    • There will be two types of merits list, on the basis of these merit lists the aspirants will be selected.
    • The aspirants will be selected on merit basis only.
    1. General Merit List – All the Aspirants who may be Sponsored or Non-Sponsored aspirant will be selected on the basis of their performance in the GATE.
    2. NRI Merit List – The aspirants who are sons and daughters of NRI persons and are desirous of want admission in Government and Govt. Aided Engineering Colleges will be selected on the basis of their performance in the GATE.

    The 50% reservation seats are further divided into different categories.
