Only aspirants with the relevant postgraduate (PG) and M.Phil degree are applicable for admissions to Ph.D. programme. The certain group of students will be exempted from having M.Phil degree depending upon their work experience. Application forms can be submitted via both, online as well as offline modes by the end of October. Aspirants will be shortlisted for admission on the basis of Written Test followed by an Interview, organized by the university.

Christ University Ph.D. Admissions 2018 Eligibility Criteria

M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Engineering, M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Computer Applications & M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Science

  • Under certain conditions such as the presence of high impact publication, students with the high academic performance at the postgraduate level, may be admitted straight to a Ph.D. programme.
  • In case of internally funded major research projects, students may be exempted from M.Phil. Requirement after two years of research experience.
  • If the aspirant has cleared UGC-CSIR NET/JRF examination or SLET/GATE examinations and also the students that have worked as JRF for one year in the externally funded major research projects, he/she may be exempted from the M.Phil. Requirement.
  • The aspirant should possess the postgraduate and M.Phil degree with an at least of 55% marks from a recognised university or institute

Christ University Ph.D. Admissions 2018 How to apply

M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Engineering, M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Computer Applications & M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Science

Interested aspirants can apply for admission via the following two modes: Online Method or Offline Mode.

Offline Mode:

Aspirants can obtain the application form by remitting the need fee at Counter No. 7, Office of Admissions, Ground Floor, Central Block, Christ University Main Campus, Bengaluru. The aspirant should fill in the need fields and affix a recent passport size (3.5cm x 4.5cm) photograph.

Online Mode:

Aspirants can download the Application Form available at the university website. Students should fill the forms with all the necessary information and submit them along with the fee via online mode.

Application Fee:

  • For NRI/International Student Category: DD for Rs. 100 USD or equivalent to it in INR in favor of “Christ University, Bengaluru” payable at Bengaluru.
  • For Indian Nationals: Via an SBI Application Procedures Fee Challan for Rs. 1000/- from any Core Banking Discipline of State Bank of India/ a valid Credit Card/ Debit Card or Net Banking facility.

List of enclosures:

  1. A copy of the DD or the Challan
  2. The filled-in printed Application form duly signed by you and your parent/guardian/spouse
  3. Copy of Class 10th and Class 12th mark sheet
  4. Copy of mark sheet of every semester/year of undergraduate, postgraduate and, if eligible, first-year mark sheet M.Phil. Degree course.
  5. Provisional degree certificate, or Degree Certificate
  6. Transfer Certificate from last qualified institution
  7. Migration certificate if you are from outside Karnataka
  8. Copy of Work concerned documents, if available
  9. Copy of entrance test marks (NET/SLET) and JRF certificate statement, it appeared
  10. Copy of passport and visa page (if eligible)
  11. A research proposal of the maximum of 1500 words and an at least of 5 pages in A4 size sheet with Times New Roman 12 size font and 1.5 line spacing pattern, to be submitted in 3 sets of hard copy and one set of soft copy.

Christ University Ph.D. Admissions Procedure 2018

M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Engineering, M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Computer Applications & M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Science

Aspirants will be selected for admission based on merit prepared on the basis of their performance in Written Test followed by an Individual Interview, organized by an expert panel of the university department.

  • Written Test: It will be for 2 hours and divided into 2 sections: Section A with 50 multiple choice questions based on research methodology and Section B with 50 questions which will be Subject specific. Each question carries one mark.
  • Interview: It will be organized by a panel of experts (Ph.D. Admission Committee). Every member will independently assess your Research Proposal on a joint sitting based on the following criteria: clarity of thought, research aptitude, analytical and interpretational skills, and the general subject knowledge.

Note: Aspirant’s scholastic achievements will also be taken into account, which would comprise an assessment of past performances and the research proposal during the Interview.
