Founded in 2009, Central University of Orissa is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) which imparts professional and non-professional education, research and training. It is one of the 15 new Central Universities founded by the Government of India during the UGC XI Plan period.

The University provides the following postgraduate (PG) courses in different branches to its students every year:-

Postgraduate course:-

  • M.A (in 7 branches) – (2 years)
  • M.Sc (in 3 branches) – (2 years)
  • MBA – (2 years)

Only aspirants with the relevant qualification are qualified to apply for the above-mentioned programmes. Aspirants can register for admission by submitting finished applications along with the fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/ PWD aspirants) via challan at any SBI discipline.

Admission to the above programmes is done on the basis of marks secured by the aspirants in the entrance test organized by the university. Aspirants will be selected to the MBA programme via their performance in the entrance examination and GD/PI organized by the university.

Eligibility
Master of Arts [MA] (Econometrics)

The aspirant must possess graduation degree with Economics Honours/Major having minimum 50% aggregate marks from recognized university or must finish graduation in Commerce/ Statistics/ Mathematics/ Engineering or any other Social Science subjects with 55% aggregate marks from recognized university

Master of Arts [MA] (English)

  • The aspirant must possess graduation degree with English as a subject at graduation level with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.

Master of Arts [MA] (Hindi)

  • The aspirant must possess graduation degree with Hindi as a subject at graduation level with minimum 45% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.

Odia Eligibility:-

  • The aspirant must possess graduation degree with Odia as a subject at graduation level with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.

Master of Arts [M.A.] (Journalism & Mass Communication)

  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.
  • The aspirant must possess graduation degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.

Master of Arts [MA] (Sanskrit)

  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.
  • The aspirant must possess graduation degree with Sanskrit as a subject at graduation level with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.

Master of Arts [MA] (Sociology)

  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.
  • The aspirant must possess graduation degree with minimum 50% aggregate marks from this university or any recognized university.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Applied Statistics and Informatics)

  • The aspirant must be Graduate in Arts/Science with Mathematics/Statistics as a subject with minimum 55% aggregate marks from recognized university
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Anthropology)

  • The aspirant must be any graduate with minimum 55% marks or 50% aggregate marks for any arts graduation from a recognized university
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.

Master of Science [M.Sc] (Biodiversity & Conservation)

  • The aspirant must be Graduate with Major subject /Honours in disciplines like Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Forestry, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics at graduation level with minimum 55% aggregate marks from recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.

Master of Business Administration [MBA]

  • The aspirant must be Graduate with minimum 60% aggregate marks from recognized university.
  • 5% relaxation will be given to SC/ ST/ PWD aspirants.

Age limit eligibility

Aspirant age should not be more than 30 years.

Online application forms:

  • Aspirants can apply online by filling the related application form via the university website “www.cuo.ac.in”
  • The aspirant must submit the procedure fee amount Rs. 500/- (General/OBC aspirants) and Rs. 250/- (for SC/ST/PWD aspirants) via challan at any SBI discipline (A/C No. 33105489656; IFSC Code: SBIN0000121, BRANCH: Koraput)
  • Upon completion of the online application procedure, aspirants need to send hard copy of the application form along with the university copy of challan via speed post at the following address:

Admission Procedure

MA & M.Sc

  • Selection of the aspirant to the above mentioned Post Graduate courses is done on the basis of entrance examination organized by the university
  • Aspirants will be shortlisted for the MBA course on the basis of their marks secured in the entrance examination and group discussion (GD) or personal interview (PI)
