Founded in 2009, Central University of Orissa is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) which imparts professional and non-professional education, research and training.
The University provides admission to the following Research (Ph.D./M.Phil.) Programmes:
Only aspirants with the relevant qualification are applicable to apply for the above mentioned programmes.
Aspirants can register for admission by submitting finished applications along with the fee of Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for SC/ST/ PwD aspirants) via challan at any SBI discipline. Admission to the above programmes is done on the basis of qualifying degree merit as well as marks secured by the aspirant in the entrance test and interview, organized by the university.

The aspirant must possess Post-Graduation in J&MC from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
Ph.D. in Journalism & Mass Communication
Eligibility:
The aspirant must possess Post-Graduation/M.Phil. In J&MC from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
M.Phil. (Anthropology)
The aspirant must possess Post-Graduation in Anthropology from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
Ph.D. in Anthropology - 2 Seats
Eligibility:
The aspirant must possess Post-Graduation/M.Phil. In Anthropology from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
M.Phil. (Sociology)
The aspirant must possess Post-Graduation in Sociology from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
Ph.D. (Sociology)
The aspirant must possess Post-Graduation/M.Phil. In Sociology from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
M.Phil. (Odia)
The aspirant must possess Post-Graduation in Odia from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
Ph.D. in Odia – 3 Seats
Eligibility:
The aspirant must possess Post-Graduation/M.Phil. In Odia from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
M.Phil. in BCNR- 10 Seats
Eligibility:
Aspirant must possess Post-Graduation in Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Forestry, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
Ph.D. in BCNR – 3 Seats
Eligibility:
The aspirant must possess Post-Graduation/M.Phil. In Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biophysics, Forestry, Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Environmental Science, Marine Biology, Molecular Biology and Genetics from a recognised University /any other Institution recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD aspirants).
Aspirants must apply for admission by filling and submitting finished applications before May 9, 2018 (May 5, 2018 in case of online application form).
