University of Calicut provides 24 undergraduate and 22 postgraduate programs. There are 28 postgraduate teaching and research departments at the university. It also provides full time and part time Ph.D. programs. For admission to either of the research programs provided by the university, one must have had obtained a master’s degree in the same or concerned field of research.
Application forms for the Ph.D. program are available online on the official website of the university. Admission to Ph.D. program starts from February 13, 2018 and ends on February 27, 2018.
Admission to Ph.D. is based on an entrance examination organized by the University Department and the marks obtained in the qualifying examination. Aspirants who complete the entrance exam will then be called for an interview at the university. The final Admission judgment will be a resultant of all the three factors taken together.

The University of Calicut provides full-time and part-time research Ph.D. programmes in University departments under the following faculties:
Eligibility Criteria for Ph.D. programs:
You should have passed Master Degree Examination or a professional degree recognised as equivalent by University of Calicut with minimum grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) or minimum 55% marks in aggregate in the marking system or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution.
Aspirants who have passed M.Phil. degree with an at least of grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale with minimum 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent are applicable to do research work leading to the Ph.D. degree.
Aspirants working in National Laboratories- Universities/Institutes/ Government/ Private Organization nominated/sponsored by the respective employer and also have a postgraduate or a professional degree with minimum grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) or minimum 55% marks in aggregate in the mark system or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution, then you are also applicable to this program.
Aspirants belonging to SC/ST categories will be given a relaxation of 10% and OBC aspirants will be given a relaxation of 5%.
You can apply for the Ph.D. program via an online method on the official website of Calicut University. The registration window will open on February 13, 2018 and it will be closed on February 27, 2018.
Note:
The online registration ID number is compulsory for downloading admit cards. Select the purpose 'Application and entrance examination fee for Ph.D. admission 2018-19'.Shortlisted students after the entrance examination, or otherwise applicable should apply straight for admission to the Department or Centre or Affiliated Colleges (based on their preference) in the prescribed forms along with the application fee.
Aspirants have to apply for entrance test and pay the fees separately if they are applying for two various branches.

Note: Applicable aspirants after the entrance examination should apply for admission in the prescribed pattern along with a challan of Rs.50/-.
Admission to Ph.D. is based on ranking in the entrance examination organized by research Department and the marks obtained in the qualifying examination.
About Entrance Test
The entrance exam will be organized by Research Departments on March 7, 2018. The Aspirants who secure at least 50% marks (40% marks for SC/ST aspirants, 45% marks for OBC aspirants) in the entrance examination are applicable to apply for registration to the Ph.D. programme.
