Method of Application
University of Calicut provides 24 undergraduate 22 postgraduate programmes. There are 28 postgraduate teaching and research departments. It also provides full time and part time M.Phil. & research programmes.
Admission to the Post Graduate Programmes in University Teaching Departments (including Post Graduate programmes to which admission is based on entrance examinations) will be organized via Centralized Admission Procedure (Post Graduate CAP).

Note: Non-English aspirants applying for MA English, admission will be based on Entrance Test.
MA (Other languages): 45% in Part II Languages related of BA/BSc or 45% in the language main papers in the case of aspirants with related languages under Part III Pattern I or 45% in language main papers in the case of aspirants with the related language under Part III Format II. A weight of 5% marks shall be added in the case of those who have taken related language under Part III.
MA (other non languages): At Least marks prescribed for admission to other non-language subjects is 45% in Part III Optional subjects of BA/B.Sc.Master of Arts [MA] (English)
You must have 45% marks in Part I English of BA/BSc Examination or 45% marks in English Main papers in the case of aspirants with English under Part III Format I or 45% marks in English main papers in the case of aspirants with English under Part III and II. Aspirants will be ranked according to the percentage of marks in part I English or Part III in the case of those who have taken English under Part III whichever is higher.A weight of 10% marks shall be added in the case of those who have taken English under Part III.Master of Arts [MA] (Economics)

Aspirants who have passed any first-degree examination with an at least of 45% marks in Part III optional subjects.

You should have secured minimum 50% marks in Part III Optional in any B.Sc Degree and approved by this University with Mathematics as one of the optional subjects in +2 or B.Sc.Level.Master of Science [M.Sc] (Psychology)

Calicut University provides two-year M.Tech. The university organizes an entrance exam for admission to this programme.
You should have passed M.Sc. degree in Nano Science and Technology/ Physics/ Applied Physics/Materials Science/ Chemistry or Applied Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry with an at least of 55% of aggregate marks. You must have a Bachelor’s degree with an aggregate of 45% marks from Calicut University or any other University recognized as equivalent by Calicut University. Professional graduates will be considered if they secure 60% marks in overall subjects. Appear in entrance test organized by the university is compulsory for this programme.
You must have a Bachelors Degree with not less than 50% marks in aggregate of the qualifying examination from Calicut University or equivalent.

You should have passed three year BPE or one-year BP.Ed. of this University or any other University and at least sports achievements should be a second place in the intercollegiate or inter-district competitions (AIU recognised sports) organized by the Universities in Kerala or recognised sports associations approved by the Kerala Sports Council.
Age Limit: Upper age limit for the course shall be 25 years as on the I July of the year of admission. Relaxation up to 5 years in age shall be given to those aspirants who have participated in inter-University tournaments or national level tournaments or in-service aspirants (Physical Education Teachers) with at least of 3 years experience and deputed by the recruiting authority and SC/ST aspirants.MHA
You should have passed in any Bachelor Degree of the University of Calicut or as equivalent to the Bachelor’s Degree. Programmes of other Universities or Institutions under 10+2+3 format under the regular stream of study with not less than 50% marks in aggregate is applicable for admission.
You should have passed in Bachelor of Theatre Art(BTA) or any Degree approved by the University with Practical theatre experience. BTA Graduates will be given a weight of 10% marks. Appear in entrance test organized by the university is compulsory for this programme.
Admission to the Post Graduate Programmes in University Teaching Departments (including Post Graduate programmes to which admission is based on entrance examinations) will be organized via Centralized Admission Procedure as per the details are given below.
The Centralized Admission Procedure (CAP) provides a facility for online submission of an application to different colleges and programmes. Students can opt up to 10 Colleges/programmes of their choice on the priority basis from among the University Department/ affiliated colleges via simple online steps available in the website of CAP or the official website of the university.
Selection Procedure of Post Graduate Programmes in University Teaching Departments (excluding Post Graduate programmes to which admission is based on entrance examinations) will be based on merit list.Master of Arts [MA] (Folklore Studies), Master of Science [M.Sc] (Clinical Psychology) & Master of Science [M.Sc] (Computer Science)
Admission to these courses will be based on the marks secured in an entrance examination organized by the University among the applicable aspirants.
The selection procedure will be done on the basis of the entrance exam organized by the university.
Below are the different reservation categories:
Physically Handicapped: For Post Graduate programmes, There will be 3 % of seats reserved for physically Handicapped aspirants. The aspirants having at least 40% disability certified by the Medical Board.
Sports Quota: Out of every 20 seats in Post Graduate Courses one seat will be reserved for outstanding sportspersons.
