Birla Institute of Technology Mesra (BIT MESRA) is an Institute of higher education and a deemed University under Section 3 of the UGC Act. Birla. M. It was founded in the year 1955 at Mesra, Ranchi in the state of Jharkhand by the philanthropist and industrialist Late Shri. B.

The main campus at Mesra is a wholly residential campus. There is also a GP Birla BIT Scholarship worth almost Rupees 2.25 crores available for meritorious students of BIT. Following the founding of the main campus in Mesra, extension centers have been founded in several regions of India as well as offshore centers in Ras al-Khaimah, UAE, and Muscat, Oman.

The Institute invites Applications for admission to the Bachelor of Pharmacy Programme for the academic year. The total available seats for the programme are 60 seats. The admission to the programme will be based on merit comprising marks obtained in JEE (Main) and academic record. It is a full-time programme provided for a period of 4 years comprising 8 semesters.

You should have passed the Class 12th or I.Sc. You should also have scored a minimum of 50% marks for general category and 45% marks for SC/ST/PWD category. or equivalent examination with at least English, Physics, Chemistry as mandatory subjects and Mathematics or Biology or Biotechnology.

In case any Board awards grades instead of marks, the calculation of equivalent marks would be based on the process prescribed by the Board.

You should also have appeared in JEE (Main)  or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG).

Age: You should be not more than 25 years in case of general category and 30 years in case of SC/ST/PWD category.

Step To Apply

B.Pharm

The Application Forms are to be filled online at the University website and submitted to the college. A login page will open where you will see 2 options, to register or to login in case you have already registered.

Step 2: You should register for the Application Form by filling in the need personal details and the programme you’re applying for.

Step 1: You must visit the University website and click on “Click Here to Apply Online”. You must use the given username and password for login.

Step 3: You must fill in the educational details including the JEE Main and NEET-Under Graduate details.

Step 4: You should then upload your recent color passport size photograph which should not exceed 5kb in size.

Step 5: You can now either save your Application for future changes or if you have finished the Application, click on “Generate Application Number”.

Step 6: After generation of ‘Application Number’, you must click on the link State Bank Collect for payment towards application fee of Rs. 1500 or general and OBC category and Rs. 1000 for SC/ST category, either via net banking, or debit or credit card.

Step 7: You must then submit your Application Form and take a print out of the Application Form.

Step 8: You should attach the following enclosures with the Form (You must write your Name and “B.Pharm” on the back of each of the photocopies):

  • Score Card of JEE (Main) or NEET-UG 
  • Caste certificate (if applicable) which should be in proper pattern and signed by the suitable authority of rank not less than SDO
  • Class 10th and Class 12th mark sheet
  • One recent color photograph with your Name and “B.Pharm” written on the back
  • Hall Ticket of JEE (Main) or NEET-UG 
  • Photo identification
  • Class 10th certificate

Step 9: You should then send the printed copy of the Application Form along with the need enclosures and a copy of the Payment Receipt to the following address:

Admission Procedure

B.Pharm

You will be selected on the basis of merit with the following distribution of marks:

  • 60% weightage will be given to marks obtained in JEE (Main)  / National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) Score and
  • 40% weightage will be given to academic performance (marks in Class 12th / equivalent qualifying examination)

Note: The marks in Class 12th will be computed as the average of following 4 subjects - English, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics / Biology / Biotechnology.

Reservation Criteria

The reservation criteria will be based on the policy of the respective state governments in case of state quota seats.

For the remaining seats, the reservation criteria will be as follows:

Up to one seat may be allotted to the aspirants who are Sons or Daughters of Kashmiri Migrant and who have otherwise have eligible for admissions.

Of the total seats, 50% seats will be reserved for aspirants who have passed their Class 12th qualifying exam from Jharkhand State.

Notes

If you have a foreign diploma, you should see the EdCIL website for equivalence and if need, you should obtain an equivalence certificate well in advance from the evaluation division of the AIU.
