Bidhan Chandra Krishi Vishwavidyalya (BCKV) is a public university affiliated to UGC and ICAR. The headquarter of the University is located in Mohanpur, in Nadia district of West Bengal. Apart from its main campus, at Mohanpur, the University has three regional research stations and three regional research substations. The University is involved in imparting quality education, research, and training in branches of agriculture and horticulture.

The University provides B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering at its Mohanpur campus. In order to be qualified for the course, an aspirant must have passed 10+2 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as mandatory subjects.

For admission to B.Tech. in Agricultural Engineering, BCKV takes into account the performance of an aspirant in WBJEE exam. The application procedure for WBJEE begins in January and is an online procedure. Aspirants do not require to apply separately to the institute and have the option to offer preference for the course in the WBJEE application form itself.

Eligibility

  • Aspirant must be at least 17 years old at the time of application
  • All the aspirants must be a permanent resident of West Bengal. However, for ICAR’s nominees, there is no such restriction.
  • The aspirant must have passed Higher Secondary examination with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing at least 45% marks(40% marks in case of SC/ST/PH aspirants ) in aggregate from WBCHSE or any other recognized board of education.

Step to Apply

The application procedure for WBJEE is organized online. To apply for WBJEE, an aspirant should follow the steps given below:

  1. Visit the official website for WBJEE. and transaction details.
  2. Upload need documents – photograph, signature, left-hand thumb impression, 10th mark sheet, domicile certificate (if applicable), caste certificate (if applicable), PWD certificate (if applicable), and Income certificate (if applicable).
  3. Click on the “Apply” button for New Aspirant Registration.
  4. Register for WBJEE by providing your email id, phone number and selecting a security password.
  5. Next step is to fill inaccurate details in the application form.
  6. Pay the application fee of 500 INR either online using a credit/debit card or via Allahabad bank challan.
  7. After successful payment of application fee, one SMS will be sent automatically by the system at your mobile phone containing the Application No. Take a printout of the confirmation page and keep it safe for future reference.

Admission Process:

Aspirants are selected on the basis of the merit in the entrance examination – WBJEE. Physics & Chemistry, and Mathematics test paper will be of 2 hours period each.

Biology section will have 150 questions and will be of two and a half hour duration. WBJEE is held offline and includes four sections. The test paper for Physics and Chemistry cumulatively will have 100 question and test paper for Mathematics will have 100 questions. The test will have four sections – Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and mathematics.

Aspirants who qualify WBJEE, are then called for a counseling session as per their merit in the exam. Such aspirants need to carry the following documents for counseling purpose:

  • Class X (or equivalent examination) Hall Ticket
  • Receipt of Online Counseling Registration Fee (E-challan receipt)
  • WBJEE Hall Ticket
  • Higher Secondary/Class XII Mark Sheet
  • Category Certificate, if applicable
  • Domicile Certificate, if Applicable
  • Print out of WBJEE /JEE Main rank from the official website
  • PWD Certificate, if Applicable
  • WBJEE Allocation Letter

 

The test for Biology section will be held in the morning session, while for Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics test will be held in the afternoon session.
