Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow was founded in 1996, by Government of India. It is recognized by UGC and accredited as an “A” grade university. The university provides different graduate, post-graduate & doctorate programs in its different schools.

BBAU provides a minimum 3-year full-time Ph.D. course in 24 specializations and a minimum 1-year M.Phil course in 8 specializations at the doctoral level.

Admission to Ph.D. & M.Phil courses is granted on the basis of performance in the entrance test followed by an interview, organized by the university. Aspirants can register for admission by filling the online application form and submitting the need registration fee.

Notes:

  1. 5% relaxation is given to aspirants belonging to SC/ST categories.
  2. Aspirants who have a degree equivalent to M.Phil from a recognized Foreign Educational Institution are also qualified for Ph.D. admission.
  3. For Undergraduate Programs
  4. Aspirants should have passed (12) or its equivalent examination with minimum 50% (45% for SC/ST/PH) marks aggregate
  5. For Post Graduate Programs
  6. Aspirants should have a graduate degree with 50% marks (40% for SC/ST/PH Aspirants) from any recognized University
  7. For Ph.D./M.Phil Programs
  8. Aspirants should have a Master Degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PH) from any recognized University

Step To Apply

M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Science

Aspirants can apply for admissions by filling and submitting the online application form, along with the need fee and important documents before April 20, 2018. Aspirants must follow the subsequent steps to apply:

  1. Visit the official website of the university.
  2. Click on “Online Admission System 2018”.
  3. Click on “Register and Apply” and fill all need details.
  4. Upload the need scanned copies in the prescribed size.
  5. Pay the application fee online via Debit or Credit card/ Net banking/ NEFT.
  6. Submit the form and take a print out of the form and registration no.

Note: The application fee can also be paid offline via Bank Challan at any ICICI discipline. The registration number will be generated after depositing the fee.

Admission Procedure

M.Phil/ Ph.D. in Science

Aspirants are selected for Ph.D. & M.Phil on the basis of merit in the Entrance Test held by the university followed by an interview. Admission will be provided in the order of merit as per the results of entrance examination and the reservation policy of the university.

Note: Aspirants who have eligible UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ SLET/ GATE or teaching fellowship holders will be exempted from the entrance exam. Such aspirants have to appear in the interview only.

The entrance test is 2-hour long consisting of 100 MCQs of 100 marks with 50% questions from research methodology and 50% from the related subject.
